I have had two fixed penalty fines of £40: one for breach of the peace and one for urinating in public. Also a breach of the peace with a racial remark. I am aware the second offence will show up on a background check whilst applying for a job however will the first two show up.

i have recently been charged with harassment without violence. i was seeing my ex girlfriend for 3 months in 2010 and for 3 months in 2009. We broke up because after we were emotionally involved she told me she had worked as an escort. in 2010 she arrived at my door, i had had a tough year as one must add i have been treated for drink and drug misuse and was at the back end of a relapse when she arrived at my door. She assured me she hadn’t worked as an escort and had put it behind her, she helped me get clean and sober. We were ok for 3 months and at new years i went on a bender, this upset her and she called the police. 3 lovely female officers came round and said she didnt want me around her when i was drinking, 4 hours later my ex came to my flat. We broke up shortly after but we were still in contact she had relapsed as an escort and suffers from sex addiction, we argued and everytime she didnt like something she would call the police, i was arrested for common assault and indecent assault both were NFA;D at the station. We continued to talk and i recently got drunk again, she told me she was seeing a police officer and on this particular day we were having a bad argument.i carried on and when i rang her a policeman answered i went mental and coninued to textand left a voicemail saying: you and your mum are f****d? god knows why? i also bought up things about her traumatic childhood which i know was very wrong of me. i have been bailed until 6th of june and i am wondering what i am looking at, niether of us are stero typical junkiesor ookers both coming from a good middle class background, not that this has any relevance but i am worried because we argued so frequently and she recently pulled up next to me in the street in her car. I ignored her and called the police, the detective in charge rang back and said i was wasting his time and he had proof she was working(day job) in Oxford he then said i would have further charges against me but if i wished to make a statement i could do so. I have no proof and she has also been goading me on face book, she also wrote a letter on my wall for everyone to see about how much she is still madly in love with me. Since this she has turnt cold again i have now deleted my fb account but im worried it may not do me any favours. She wrote that she is going to take me to the cleaners on the 6th of june on her wall and i am very worried. i already have a charge of common assault and one for criminal damage, i received a DRR and probation for both the latter being in 2008 and i was sent to rehab. Im certainly no angel but it upsets me that i have no way of proving her part in all this as well. I fully accept my part but it is causing me anxiety and stress. please help.

HELLO Everyone..I applied as a healthcare assistant and went for the job interview about a month ago and went pretty well.. at the end they got me to fill up a form which is a criminal background check which they said could take 2 – 6 weeks and also scanned my passport as I don’t hold a British passport but have an indefinite leave status.. i don’t have any criminal background just to clear up..any ideas what I should do as I am currently unemployed. I want to study a post-graduate degree (i.e. Masters) so I can facilitate a change of career. I’m interested in moving into the area of criminal justice/criminology within the UK. My bachelor degree was from a reasonably reputable UK university but was in Economics, Politics and Law, and I currently work as an international IT consultant, so my background in the criminal justice/criminology field is extremely limited. Jeremy Scott grumbled to himself as he shrugged his coat off and put it over his chair. Today was a day like any other; he’d roll out of bed, at what to him was a reasonable hour, go into his office at a time he pleased and do as little work as possible until it came until clocking out. Whilst it was ideal for a younger man with too much time on his hands, Jeremy’s routine had become awfully tedious. It certainly wasn’t what he signed up for when he became a criminal investigator. He’d always dreamed of being out on the field, solving crimes, catching bad guys, not sitting cooped up in an office signing papers and reading over age-old unsolved case files in the hope that something new would click.
Jeremy threw his feet onto his desk, took a deep breath and braced himself for yet another day exactly the same as the one before.
“You really should be coming into work earlier, you know. What if we need you?” Jeremy’s partner Lucas walked into the room, two cups of coffee in hand and a grin on his face, as per usual. He set one down next to Jeremy and began to fumble around with some sheets of paper.
“To do what, staple the boss’s bills?” Jeremy asked sarcastically as he took a sip of scalding black coffee, ‘severely sweetened’, just as he liked it. “Nothing ever goes on here anymore and even if it did, it’s too bloody dark to see it” Lucas chuckled.
“No,” he said handing Jeremy a brown paper folder, “there’s been another set of suicides over the past twelve hours; teenage lads, one seventeen, the other sixteen both up for a basketball scholarship.” Jeremy sighed and flicked through the boys profiles, “they go to different schools, play for two different teams, they come two from completely different backgrounds.” With a nod, Jeremy ushered Lucas to continue. “There’s no reason to suggest any type of depression for either of them… they’re both very talented players, both pretty good academics… both awfully popular. You know?”
“I know…” Jeremy sighed, “Is there any damage to the body? Any strangulation marks, any cuts, anything?”
Lucas shook his head, “nope. They were just found flat out, dead. One was face down in his school gym, the other in a middle of trees in a local park. Police are suggesting maybe an over dose of something or alcohol poisoning”
“Why are they treating it as suicide, not just an accidental death then?”

Don’t realise how good they’ve got it…” he set the folders down on the desk, “well, there’s no evidence to suggest murder, signs of struggle or any remotely… exotic… but there aren’t any suicide notes, either. What do they expect us to do exactly?”
Lucas shrugged and sipped his own drink. Despite his brains and wealth of common sense, he’d always been more of a follower than a leader; he’ always been more of a parent to Jeremy and his reckless, ‘act before you think’, nature despite looking much younger and innocent than his partner.
Jeremy grumbled to himself, “how come so many people are tying the noose lately, anyway? I mean I know it’s getting darker… and there’s almost no light during the day… but surely… would that lead to so many people going that mad?” he took a final sip of his drink and stood up, “Luke, tell them down in forensics to check the bodies for any foreign substances and report back… whenever, really. 4 or 5 years ago i was stopped and searched and they found a little folding pocket knife and i was taken to court over the knife amnesty and i was taken to court and the case well i was let off without a fine or jail time or community service but it remains on my record that i was taken to court over this offense "or something similar "some kind of discharge?"

I talk to a lot of ‘educated’ people and a lot of people who aren’t. I mix in a variety of circles from upper middle classes to straight up career criminals, people who live comfortably and people who graft every day and don’t come home with as much as they should at the end of the week.
It has become apparent to me that people of all economic backgrounds (who are white) for the most part believe that racism towards black people is over. They seem to believe that black people have access to the same opportunities as white people and even a fair few believe that black people actually have more opportunities.
I don’t think it is just my opinion that black people are less likely to succeed in terms of quality of life and economic power, the statistics in the USA and UK reflect that, just as the life expectancy does. And i personally refuse to believe that the reason these people fail to reach the same standard of life is through lack of intelligence or application. I believe the reason is structural discrimination and i know the statistics reflect that too with blacks being four times more likely to be stopped and searched by police an sixteen times more likely to be expelled from school (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/194290.stm).

Racism against white people is kind of a joke. I think a lot of white people have been beaten by racist blacks and asians and some even killed. My dad was beaten up by a gang of Asians for being white. But how many black people have ethnocentrism’s the media and education system, how many blacks have prevented whites from being fairly represented in the Business and financial sectors. had a very difficult miserable life – missed out on EVERYTHING thus far : relationships, friendships , employment, qualifications etc.

in the present im living in a one bedroom apartment in a dreary part of england on sickness disability – iam waiting for group therapy because thers is no individual psychotherapy in my area.
i was diagnosed with BPD and post traumatic stress traits.
i have physical problems, torn ankle ligaments, i need an operation on my left ankle – cracked skin on my penis, waiting for a 3rd opinion from a dermatologist – im out of shape badly because i have been inactive for so long. my physicality is weak.
the otherday i was on the phone talking, and in the background i was privy to another girl talking on the phone, she sounded young, white and caucasian , it sounded like she was getting sexual stimulation or sexual kicks by talking to some guy on the phone , in a squealy type voice with submissive tones she kept saying ” yeah , yeeeaaah , yeah…….yeaaah….yeah ”.
i felt really enraged listening to that because, while im working on bettering my life and trying to achieve my long term aims, some girl is obliviously enjoying life, simply, and getting off talking to someone.
while ive missed out on all that good stuff , and have to go through hell, as i always have done to get the life i want for myself..
and outside, life is just carrying on as normal, and people are having fun, getting their rocks off.

Basically, I was charged with assault/battery when I was 16. However, I don’t believe I was convicted:
-They never took fingerprints/mugshot
-I never went to court
-They made me write a statement telling my side of the story
-They sent me to a Youth’s counseling place with my parents. I only was required to attend one session and the counselor told me that as long as no fingerprints were taken "I’m good".
-Last, they sent a letter to my house after I turned 17 to tell us my case was "closed". Which my counselor told me they’d do.

This is about a lady called Aafia Siddiqui. I’ve been keeping up with what she’s been thru and believe that she is a victim of unfair circumstances. It’s been a while since she has been sentenced but I still struggle to come to terms with why no seems to care?
Aafia Siddiqui was kidnapped from Islamabad, Pakistan in 2003 along with her three children. America denied knowing anything about her and she appeared in the US around 2007.
She was accused of being arrested in Afghanistan, of being a terrorist with links to Al-Qaeda and was called the female Osama Bin Laden by the media.
All terror charges were dropped!
She was then accused of opening fire on US soldiers. Apparently, a soldier placed his gun down for some reason and she handled the weapon when their backs were turned. She fired but missed. The story is absolutely absurd but she has been found guilty and is now serving time. The judge said something along the lines of “remember, it’s the word of a US marine thats on trial” before the jury left to make a decision.

Considering her background, she does not match the profile of a criminal of any sort. She is way too weak to handle any sort of weapon and the evidence to support the absurd story was and is weak!
She was shot at point blank range by an American soldier and I believe she has kidney problems as a result. Her two younger children are still missing (assumed dead) and the elder (12 at the time) is now mentally weak.

I believe strongly in freedom and self-empowerment. I think that the law and government have failed us, but we, the people, can take control of the law to make it better. That’s why the current state should be torn down and replaced by a democratic community run by the people, preferably libertarian or anarcho-libertarian people. I believe that justice should be retributive and play out like karma, the punishment should always fit the crime. If a ruling body engages in cover up operations, then they should be given criminal status and punishment for concealing crucial information from the public. Saving lives, doing important things and scientific endeavor shouldn’t need to cost money, let alone huge amounts of money, for it is a selfish attitude that could be self-destructive. The morality of society should be adaptable and fit the situation. For example, if your friend were in danger would you do bad things to save him/her? The basic principle of that is that sometimes you need to do bad things for a greater good, like a moral balance if you will. People should not shun others for their beliefs, their race, their likes and dislikes, their life choices or their background. People should not excuse evil acts for a religious cause. Altruism should always be rewarded. Marriage shouldn’t be a matter of law or religion; it should be a matter of love and the will of those marrying. Multiple spouses are somewhat tolerant, as long as it is a matter of choice and if the one with multiple spouses is faithful and loving to all of said spouses equally. Making things taboo gets in the way of freedom. Those who hold or force power over weaker individuals should be punished. The same goes for bureaucratic, theocratic and authoritarian bodies, people or organizations. Organized religion should be disempowered yet freedom of religion is still a protected value, but so is freedom of artistic expression of religious figures, bodies and concepts. We all know that it was the greedy and covetous actions of the ruling bodies of the world that caused all the environmental problems in the first place but governments just dump the responsibility on us civilians in cowardice. Couple weeks back they terrorized the Jewish community not far from my town assaulting and vandalizing things because of Israel continues its strikes on the Hamas terrorists. One evening a woman who I never met or knew knocked at my door and said derogatory comments about me for not paying my rent, I told her I had visitors and it had nothing to do with her, she said “I am the landlords wife”. I went to go back into my house and she grabbed my wrist causing scratches, I pulled her hand off my wrist and she fell to the ground. (there were no real injuries to her or me) She called the police to have me arrested for assault so I called the police too for her assault on me. NOTHING HAPPENED no Police ever came.
Three weeks later the Police did come to arrest me for assault and to search my house for forged passports that the Landlord told them I had. (he lied) they took me to the station and took statements about the assault on the Landlords wife, bailed me for 1 month on police bail. Nobody took up my complaint about her assaulting me despite me complaining 2 times to Police, on the 3rd time at a different station they took my statement about her assaulting me. (this was 7 weeks after the assault)
My bail was up today and the Police Woman left a message that I should meet her so for the result from the Crown Prosecution service. She never showed up and left a note saying to come back in 1 more month pending investigations. She takes 1-2 weeks to return phone calls and if you miss her call she will not call again so I have to wait anoth 1-2 weeks. I have never been in trouble with The police In my life.
I also Have 2 jobs pending a CRB check (criminal background check) as I work with vulnerable Adults so this Police Woman is ruining my career by her mistreatment and incompetence. Who do I need to complain to about the way I have been treated.
I can’t believe that the Police never showed up and three weeks later expect to complete a full investigation long after the fact.

I am young, fit and determined. My mother has recently been the victim of a serial mugger in our town and it seems the police are doing good work but are too thin on the ground to apprehend him. He has now chalked up 13 muggings, 3 assaults and what is believed to be an attempted rape on a teenage boy.
This man must be stopped, and others like him. Therefore as of today I am venturing out every night in to the areas where it seems he, and other criminals, have been operating, to put an end to this. So if Pakistan is not allowed to do background checks on the students, how exactly can it be said that the list is comprehensive? If we only check against the list, we WILL be missing lots of potential criminals on their way in to the UK.
In the light of this inability to adequately screen people entering the UK, and the Pakistani President’s insistance that it is up to the UK to prevent them from entering, ie the fault of the UK immigration system for letting them in, then is it not time to shut the door? First off let me say I am pro gun owership with proper rules, handling training, background checks etc. I believe that shooting is an excellent sport.
It is 20 years on from the tragedy that was the Hungerford massacre where a man walked down the street with an assault rifle shooting anyone he seen. My question is do you think if shooting was more accepted and encouraged he could have been stopped sooner? Or do you think it would have resulted in mass panic shooting. Also do you think if it was completly outlawed then as it pretty much is now the massacre would still have happened but only with something else such as a car or knives?
Do you think that gun owner ship should be allowed today in a country where only criminals have guns and good citizens do not.

If you look at statistics how many are comminted by legally owned guns? Same in Britain most gun crime is and always has been illegal guns not registered etc.

Yes there is reason to have shotguns and rifles for vermin control etc. I myself have an interest in handgun target shooting and would love to have the chance to take up this sport but i do not. I would like to add that if i hear of a shooting i’m 90% sure that it will either be black person shot or a black person doing the shooting. So logically wouldn’t it be better to do something about the gangs they are in rather than guns. If you look at statistics gun crime is up since the banning. Not only that how many police officers do you hear of being shot these days compared to 20 years ago.
I agree at the very least handguns and semi rifles should be held in a secure location like a club for target shooting but think about the amount of guns held in one location that if someone could by pass that security and get them.
oldpepy- Thank you for agreeing. However i do not believe that self defence is the main reason of owning a firearm. I believe that only damages the arguement for owner ship. My main reason is the sport. However i do agree that self defence is a handy by product of ownership and if it was more widely accepted then the shooter could possibly have been stopped sooner rather than later.
Bear- sorry to hear about your collegue. However I do still believe that firearms are acceptable if properly controlled and policed. As another user said if we followed the swiss example Michael Ryan would have been stopped almost immediatly. Unfortunatly you are right some people do fly off the rails but again what was to stop that person grabbing a kitchen knife and stabbing someone. At the very least handguns and semi auto rifles should be allowed to be purchased and held in gun clubs.
The thing with BB guns/Air rifles is semi ridiculous. Sometimes bb guns are treated as if they are actual firearms shopkeepers who sell them to youths should be prosecuted not legitimate skirmishers/target shooters etc. I believe that air rifles should be licenced but not to the strict extent of proper firearms licenceing i.e constant checks. Just a general application and vetting again so people can enjoy shooting safely without neds getting their hands on them so easily.

unfortunatly im a person who has suffered a miserable life all my life – ive never really lived my life or done anything i want to.
had a very difficult miserable life – missed out on EVERYTHING thus far : relationships, friendships , employment, qualifications etc.
suffered severe abuse/ bullying throughout my life, im now 30 years old , i feel ive aged prematurly because of stress , i have a minor criminal record , ( carrying a knife in a rough nieghbourhood, carrying a snooker ball in a sock – assault , kicking someone – ) spent time in a psychiatric hospital for 18 months because i said things to scare psychiatrist because i wasnt recieving help in the community.
all that was about 7 years ago, since then ive been from pillar to post, ended up homeless for 9 months.
ive made alot of progress from how i once was – i used to have rage outbursts in public and lash out and pick fights with people, due to bottled up anger when i was bullied.
in the present im living in a one bedroom apartment in a dreary part of england on sickness disability – iam waiting for group therapy because thers is no individual psychotherapy in my area.
i was diagnosed with BPD and post traumatic stress traits.
i have physical problems, torn ankle ligaments, i need an operation on my left ankle – cracked skin on my penis, waiting for a 3rd opinion from a dermatologist – im out of shape badly because i have been inactive for so long. my physicality is weak.
the otherday i was on the phone talking, and in the background i was privy to another girl talking on the phone, she sounded young, white and caucasian , it sounded like she was getting sexual stimulation or sexual kicks by talking to some guy on the phone , in a squealy type voice with submissive tones she kept saying ” yeah , yeeeaaah , yeah…….yeaaah….yeah ”.
i felt really enraged listening to that because, while im working on bettering my life and trying to achieve my long term aims, some girl is obliviously enjoying life, simply, and getting off talking to someone.
while ive missed out on all that good stuff , and have to go through hell, as i always have done to get the life i want for myself..
and outside, life is just carrying on as normal, and people are having fun, getting their rocks off.

Dallas , USA . Because both of us are such biscuit lovers, we decided to
try the ‘Neiman-Marcus cookie’. It was so excellent that I asked if they
would give me the recipe. The waitress said with a small frown, ‘I’m
afraid not, but you can buy the recipe.’
I asked how much, and she responded; ‘Only two fifty – it’s a great

I agreed to that, and told her to add it to my bill.
Thirty days later, I got my Visa statement, and the Neiman-Marcus charge
was 5. I looked at it again, and I remembered I had only spent .95
for two sandwiches and about for a scarf. At the bottom of the
statement, it said, ‘Cookie Recipe – 0.00′. That was outrageous!
I called Neiman’s Accounting Department and told them the waitress had
said it was ‘two fifty’, which clearly does not mean ‘two hundred and
fifty dollars’ by any reasonable interpretation of the phrase.
Neiman-Marcus refused to budge. They would not refund my money because
according to them; ‘What the waitress told you is not our problem. You
have already seen the recipe. We absolutely will not refund your money.
I explained to the Accounting Department lady the criminal statutes

the Better Business Bureau and The Texas Attorney General’s office. I

butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour,
oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and bicarbonate of soda. Add chocolate
chips, grated Chocolate and nuts. Roll into balls, and place two inches
apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees (180 C).

Hey I am about to write a story involving a group of American and British con artists in New York City.
Anyway i have come up with character ‘profiles’ like their background and what they are like but i am not too sure about possible names and i would like a few ideas and opinions. I have already named the lead character. Here are the characters:
Indiana Irina "Indie" Hamilton- 21 year old of Russian and Scottish decent. Red- head and is quite short. Born in Glasgow but ran away to live in London aged 16. Very street-wise and confident but is very cagey about her life before running away and can be naive when it comes to solving problems.
?- Englishman in his late 30′s/ early 40′s. Brown and greying hair and is well spoken. Considers himself Indie’s mentor. Very smart but very cautious of all strangers due to his experience. Can be very sarcastic and is constantly pensive.
?- Englishman in his mid to late 30s. Best friend of above character and is Indie’s confidante. Strong Manchester accent and can be aggressive towards troublemakers and extremely protective over Indie.
?- American man aged 20. Meets the group whilst conning in New York and has many contacts in the criminal world. Has heartthrob looks and uses them for his cons. Constantly found in designer clothing and poses as Indie’s boyfriend when conning.

I feel fully British inside, I was born here, speak only English, have a white long term girlfriend, and want to serve my country through the armed forces. The only thing that separates me from the white British people is the colour of my skin; it is light brown, and my eyes, which are very dark brown. I do look like I was born mixed race.
Now, my thoughts, and questions, are this… would Nick Griffin be happy in keeping me here? What about other hardworking folk of mixed race? What about hardworking immigrants, who aren’t born here but contribute a lot to society? (say, working for British intelligence e.g. MI5 (I’m sure there would be at least a couple), or the police, or other specialist jobs such as surgeons?)
Now, don’t get me wrong, I have read FULLY, and I mean fully, the policies of the BNP as they stand, at present, on their website. I have watched interviews of Griffin recently saying it would be hard for him to imagine Britain without a small, proportionate number of immigrants and their descendents, and those who contribute are ‘welcome to stay’. But does he mean it?
I envisage, maybe in 30 – 40 years, the BNP becoming perhaps a third or second party in British politics. I do agree immigration in this country is too much. Now, before you read what I have to say, please have an open mind.
I clearly see both sides of the argument (as in those who are loyal to the BNP and those is vehemently oppose them). I see both sides. I see much non-white scum, and much white scum. I live in a town near Liverpool which is overwhelmingly white. So I suppose I don’t see much of a ‘race problem’ here. But too often I see ‘chavs’, who are clearly white Britons, drinking, hurling abuse at the public, partying loudly until 4am, smashed bottles left everywhere near the block of flats I live at, carrying knives, racist, don’t bother getting an education, a job, and have about 5 children by the time they’re 21, providing their families through benefits. But I am also aware of those people who probably lead very similar lives who were either not born here, or are children of those not born here. It works both ways indeed.
If the BNP got into power and threw everyone like me out along with immigrants, would the white British people who voted them in shout out in uproar and defend those in my situation? If the BNP have indeed changed, then surely that won’t happen. But what if they haven’t and they still believe in their old beliefs? What would happen? Would there be secret police?
What I’m trying to get at is politics isn’t the same anymore. I don’t really support any party at the moment. I agree with some of what Labour say, what the Conservatives say, what the BNP say, and even some of what the Communist Party of Britain say. But none of them appeal to me enough to vote. I’m therefore indecisive about voting, and especially for the BNP. I agree with massively reducing immigration however. But some of their members are indeed only in their party because they primarily want an all white Britain (I’m not using the word ‘racist’ as it is a word that is used, flung around and said too quickly by people these days). But I also sympathise with those who feel they have no other choice but to vote for them. Most mainstream politicians are out of touch with the public at the moment.
I have a lot more to say on the topic, which I will do in the future, or if you e-mail me. I don’t intend to offend anyone, BNP supporters or not, I’m trying to look at it objectively here, and open up peoples’ minds. If you’re stopped by police, either for a crime or a random check, but they can’t identify you (eg. you have no criminal record, no ID, refuse to tell them etc etc) what would they do? Surely they need a name to check your background and/or arrest you?

im starting out at a late stage nearlly 31, i feel truly fckd. depressed and hopeless as i have these goals in life im not prepared to lower or adjust.

suffered severe abuse/ bullying throughout my life, im now 30 years old , i feel ive aged prematurly because of stress , i have a minor criminal record , ( carrying a knife in a rough nieghbourhood, carrying a snooker ball in a sock – assault , kicking someone – ) spent time in a psychiatric hospital for 18 months because i said things to scare psychiatrist because i wasnt recieving help in the community.
all that was about 7 years ago, since then ive been from pillar to post, ended up homeless for 9 months.
ive made alot of progress from how i once was – i used to have rage outbursts in public and lash out and pick fights with people, due to bottled up anger when i was bullied.
in the present im living in a one bedroom apartment in a dreary part of england on sickness disability – iam waiting for group therapy because thers is no individual psychotherapy in my area.
i was diagnosed with BPD and post traumatic stress traits.
i have physical problems, torn ankle ligaments, i need an operation on my left ankle – cracked skin on my penis, waiting for a 3rd opinion from a dermatologist – im out of shape badly because i have been inactive for so long. my physicality is weak.
im so jumbled up an confused because im wondering what to do and in what priority – i have goals in life i want to reach ; i want to emigrate from england to somewhere hot and coastal with a good paid job in IT computers.
i definatly want to emigrate inspite of my disadvantages – but im so depressed because im starting from nothing, from scratch virtually.
and now im worrying how i will achieve that goal, and what order to do things , like prioritise ?
i feel in a rush, im scared it will take too long to achieve my goals as im already an aged 30 , 31 in january.

I just wondered what people thought on this subject. Whether people thought it was down to genectics-nature that criminals commit crimes or down to nurture. By nurture I obviously don’t just mean the way the parents have brought them up. I mean do you think society and people have made people like that. Personally I think it must be nurture. watermelon, that or you live in a ghetto with no education, talk in slang, wear "bling" and are involved in criminal gangs
People from Southern Europe such as Italy or Greece, like in my big fat greek wedding, portrayed with more or less dark hair/eyes so they all look the same with large families who own restaurants – Bull S***, I have a friend of Italian descent who is fair skinned with auburn hair, and no her family aren’t a Mafia gang or owners of a pizza restaurant, while she got asked things like that constantly at school, even by some of our teachers!
Asians seen as either being super intelligent and good at school or doing martial arts with a family that owns a convenience store or a takeway
Peoples prejudices:
Since 9/11 and the London bombings fear that a Muslim person sitting on the bus or on a plane has some sort of explosive device hidden in their bag
I am 1/4 German and 1/4 Austrian, people found it funny to do Nazi salutes in front of me and ask if I was related to Hitler. Hahahahahaha….no
I could go on and on and on. You may have different opinions but this is my personal one, that ethnic stereotyping is a main cause for hatred and phobias of different cultures and ethnic groups. And the media doesn’t help by perpetuating those sort of ideas by using ethnic stereotypes in film and television either, people might find that enjoyable and funny but in the end that just reinforces the ideas. It makes me annoyed that some of us can’t seem to see past those ideas and discover that not everyone, from whatever background they may come from is like the way people belonging to their culture and minority are sometimes portrayed as, sure there might be loads of people who fit the stereotypes but that doesn’t apply to EVERYONE. I am so utterly confused. Besides that, I’m also terribly upset. Approximately 3 weeks ago, I began interviewing with a company for an engineering position. I spoke with 3 team members – my soon to be senior developer, his manager, and the technical lead. All three really liked me a lot. 1 week after interviewing, they offered me a position. I happily went back and forth within a days time on two occasions so they could speed up the paperwork. Everything was… gold. I was to start last Monday.
Then… they tell me that they need to take a background check. OK. That’s fine. I’ve got nothing to hide. Well, it turns out I had a traffic ticket which I paid for, got refunded to an account I never used, and basically was left on my record. Furthermore, for some odd reason, AZ charged it as a criminal offense ( 90 in a 75 ). On Friday ( Yes, this last Friday – No more than 4 days ago )…. I was told that because of this offense, I could not work for this company. A traffic ticket, which I had paid, and somehow with my mistake, ended up being the reason which precluded me from a position? Are you kidding me? I responded on Friday that I would be straightening this out over the weekend.
Over the weekend, I managed to not only get it reversed, but also have the judge verbally do this on an express notice. They even faxed me the dismissal documents.
Monday, I let them know of the dismissal. Today, I sent the dismissal paperwork which the judge faxed over to the company…
20 minutes ago, I receive a call that they already filled the position and he’s already started. I recognize that the whole issue was not glamorous, but
a.) It was a traffic ticket.
b.) I had it rectified within a weekend’s notice.
c.) As far as I knew, which I definitely knew, they all really liked me alot.
I’m sitting here at my computer, and am just in awe now as to what to do. How can they acquire someone over a day’s notice? It took me nearly 2 weeks with paperwork and background check.

im now 30, have physically aged to look at, i have physical imperfections ; 2 missing teeth – front bottom row – a crooked little finger due to injury years back, damaged nerves in my knuckle through punching a wall years ago – even though i can use my hand normally , i cant punch a punchbag without it hurting.
at weekends i feel even more abandoned , isolated and alienated , like everybody , society and people are far away from me…….like im left behind..
i think of the contacts that once reached out to me on here, that i lost because i was to clingy desperate or was afraid to reciprocate , so i lost them.
i think how distant they are……i think of the atlantic itself , distant horizons , lonely horizons…….about the good people that are distant and who abandoned me.

5 years ago when I was 18 I was caught shoplifting an item worth £1.50 in Primark (my first offence). The security guard took my name, date of birth, address and photo from the security cameras. This information was, in his words, then passed on to all Primark stores and the police. I then received a lifelong ban from ALL Primarks (which was later dropped after I sent a letter of apology to the store manager).
The police were not involved, I was not arrested and do not have a criminal record; future employers will not know what happened if they run a background check. However, according to the security guard, since he forwarded my info to the police, if I ever get involved with the police in the future the cops will know about the shoplifting incident. How exactly is this possible? Like, where do the police store this info? (Since I don’t have a criminal record for them to put it on!) Can anyone but law enforcement access such info?
This a bit of a long shot really… I am currently working for the British police force and loving it may i add, but always wanted to work and live in the US. Now i’ve done a little bit of homework in moving to America getting my Green card, Citizenship and possibly moving over to the US and renting accomodation till on my feet.
The only thing i seem to be having trouble with is finding a job possibly before i start to get the ball rolling. Now being in the British Police force does that possibly grant me some experiance in working with the Law in America?

I’m mostly clean apart from one thing – about a year ago my friends and I were spotted by security guards looking through bins – we go around collecting discarded objects to use in art projects. It’s called found materials. The security call the police, the police stop & search us, I still have the receipt for the search – it says they were looking for evidence of theft/burglary and nothing was found. It has my current address on it.
Whereas it is true that if you went back in time and took someone who has a history of crime and instead made them 3rd in line to the throne or something when they were just born they would more likely than not turn out differently, however, why do many people (usually socialists) believe that criminals from poorer backgrounds can be justified as they are a "victim of society and capitalism"?

I’m a British citizen, moving back home (have been abroad since my early teens) as an adult, but a rental agency in the UK says I need references to rent a residence in the UK, and need to be ‘checked out’.
Trouble is, I don’t rent here, I live with a relative; I only get two bills in my name. What could I get or do to be a better ‘risk’ to rent to in the UK?
A police background check (which is expensive here) would only cover the country I’m in now, and probably wouldn’t be taken seriously in the UK. I have no criminal record, no bad credit history, but don’t have former landlords or close family to "back me up".

ive missed out all my life on happiness, goals, friendships, relationships, work, education, lifestyles..
never achieved any of it because ive suffered such a miserable life of trauma, let downs, rejection, bullying ~( physical and mental ) – abuse, assaults, attacks, time in a psychiatric hospital, time in jail….a criminal record…a mental health record etc…
today ive lived on my own since 2005 in a small messy flat without anybody….i have no social support network exceptt my mother and 1 internet friend…..my mother who is aging and cannot do the things she used to.
i live on disability, i own nothing except a few books and an old dusty computer.
because of the severe bullying and abuse i suffered i developed a rage and aggression problem….iam diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and ptsd..
i used to have rage outbursts many times in crowded public places and lash out at strangers…..get confrontational…..stare at people act out of control aggressive..
because of this sometimes i thought could i have intermittent explosive disorder ?
but have accepted my bpd diagnoses, ive made lot of progress controling my aggression and outbursts for years now…and are waiting for an appointment for psychotherapy..
for a while ive experienced bad anxiety, flashbacks, panic that keep my staying inside my apartment except when i need to go out..
struggled with aggression because of unresolved anger of the past, severe bullying etc..
paranoia that im being deliberatly alienated by people, ostracised and socially excluded…..like my lifes being opressed and controlled..
im not sure how the paranoia started but ive had it vertually all my adult life.
sometimes in an average day, some people are abrupt, cold, stand-offish, non accepting of me, aloof, exchange glances, and seem to be deliberatly making me feel like an outcast..
supermarket workers, cafe workers, store cashiers …authority figures..
this reinforces my paranoia im being socially ostracised.
i feel society….the local community has a negative perception of me which, just the thought they have makes me feel incredablly angry.
i feel deliberatly shut out of society…..like im stigmatised, like a lot of people know about my past….rage episodes….my background etc..
i feel vilified by people who used to victimise me years back.
i feel people in the community remember my countless ragew outburst or im somehow stigmatised and labelled in other ways..
otherwise, why are people so aloof, and stand-offish from me and seem to distance themselves from me ???
obviously i struggle with aloofness myself, and im very wary and guarded towards people……but no one can blame me for that considering everything i have had to go through….
in spite of my crap life ive had to endure, and my past, and history and possible stigma surrounding me im still going on….making progress with my rage…..have the odd setback with anger showing – but on the whole ive done well.
im trying to be positive and work towards future goals of a good paid job and to move away from england to live near the quiet coast somewhere….to live a peaceful life..

i also have a petty criminal record to…i would really like to fullfill my ambition of emigration to canada or australia someday, but i keep getting told from people i wont be able to because of my background and my history, i get very depressed and in low moods because of this, and i feel if i discover that i cannot move away, emigrate, i will do myself in, because i hate it here in england, and desperatley wanna work towards leaving….im waiting for therapy for my disorder, but i dont wanna think i can never leave britain and that im trapped here because of mistakes ive made in my past and my mental health history, thats condemnation, im willing to work with my problems with therapy, but i need to know that theres hope for me,that i could move out & far away if i choose..i dont wanna be told i cant go where i wanna go, when im a reforming character,or else my time on earth is a short one.does anyone se any hope for me?

ive missed out all my life on happiness, goals, friendships, relationships, work, education, lifestyles..
never achieved any of it because ive suffered such a miserable life of trauma, let downs, rejection, bullying ~( physical and mental ) – abuse, assaults, attacks, time in a psychiatric hospital, time in jail….a criminal record…a mental health record etc…
today ive lived on my own since 2005 in a small messy flat without anybody….i have no social support network exceptt my mother and 1 internet friend…..my mother who is aging and cannot do the things she used to.
i live on disability, i own nothing except a few books and an old dusty computer.
because of the severe bullying and abuse i suffered i developed a rage and aggression problem….iam diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and ptsd..
i used to have rage outbursts many times in crowded public places and lash out at strangers…..get confrontational…..stare at people act out of control aggressive..
because of this sometimes i thought could i have intermittent explosive disorder ?
but have accepted my bpd diagnoses, ive made lot of progress controling my aggression and outbursts for years now…and are waiting for an appointment for psychotherapy..
for a while ive experienced bad anxiety, flashbacks, panic that keep my staying inside my apartment except when i need to go out..
struggled with aggression because of unresolved anger of the past, severe bullying etc..
paranoia that im being deliberatly alienated by people, ostracised and socially excluded…..like my lifes being opressed and controlled..
im not sure how the paranoia started but ive had it vertually all my adult life.
sometimes in an average day, some people are abrupt, cold, stand-offish, non accepting of me, aloof, exchange glances, and seem to be deliberatly making me feel like an outcast..
supermarket workers, cafe workers, store cashiers …authority figures..
this reinforces my paranoia im being socially ostracised.
i feel society….the local community has a negative perception of me which, just the thought they have makes me feel incredablly angry.
i feel deliberatly shut out of society…..like im stigmatised, like a lot of people know about my past….rage episodes….my background etc..
i feel vilified by people who used to victimise me years back.
i feel people in the community remember my countless ragew outburst or im somehow stigmatised and labelled in other ways..
otherwise, why are people so aloof, and stand-offish from me and seem to distance themselves from me ???
obviously i struggle with aloofness myself, and im very wary and guarded towards people……but no one can blame me for that considering everything i have had to go through….
in spite of my crap life ive had to endure, and my past, and history and possible stigma surrounding me im still going on….making progress with my rage…..have the odd setback with anger showing – but on the whole ive done well.
im trying to be positive and work towards future goals of a good paid job and to move away from england to live near the quiet coast somewhere….to live a peaceful life..
im 30 now and obviously missed out a great deal on everything..
i need treatment for my injured ankle and torn ankle ligaments, i have to watch how i walk, or else i can go over…..it is very weak……
its depressing to because with it i feel like a cripple.
the skin on the head of my penis is all cracked and teared, covering the head…..so im waiting to hear from a dermatologist about that.
so theres alot of things causing me insecurity and anxiety at the moment.
and ontop of that, when i go outside….or i browse myspace, in england at female profiles or other countries in myspace i see beaming happy grins…..like everyones happy….oblivious to my life of torment and torture..
flirty, wide grinned, rosy cheeked, fair haired grins and i feel incredablly angry at that !!!!! ( clenched teeth )
because ive missed out all my life at starting from scratch at 30, on my own in a small flat.
how do i handle this ?
because i feel angry and jealous toward those happy people and want to take it out on them

with all this in mind, ive always suffered extreme low self worth……and always been rejected………never formed any relationships in life so far and im 30 now..

with girls i expect more from them than they want to give right at the very beggining, get all ‘ clingy ‘ , then understandablly this drives them away and causes them to reject me.

It says to disclose if your parents are involved in criminal activity or anything which resulted in a clash with the law. Would my dad caught speeding and going to court to pay a fine impact on my family’s background checks which are carried out? His CRB for a security guard came back fine so I presume he has no criminal record????

He came having received a letter from his brother Dominic, who is serving two life sentences for rape and murder, wrote and told him about the luxuries he was enjoying in one of Englands high-security jails. Majlat claimed he only did it so that he could have hot food and learn English.

ive had borderline personality disorder and ptsd, ive had it all my adult life now and suffered a terrible , miserable , unfortunate, traumatic life so far, im 30 years old now.
ive suffered abuse, bullying, psychological bullying, homelessness, assaults , head injuries, bullying throughout high school, dropped out of school, time in a psychiatric hospital.
ive missed out on a ‘normal ‘ life , what everybody takes for granted – missed out on forming ‘ any ‘ relationships – missed out on an education, being employed , gaining qualifications – all of it.

im waiting to see if theyll give me group therapy, i wanted individual therapy but told me there was lack of funding for that.

i push people away , misenterpret that they do thing to get at me personally.

struggle to socially connect with people , cant handle being outside in public without feeling full of anxiety, panic , feeling agitated , paranoid , uncomfortable , and angry.
feel jealous of what i perceive to be others ‘ happy normal’ lives like i want to take out anger towards them.
so i dont go out , except when i have to, to pay bills etc.
feel isolated and alone , feel alienated.
have no friends or social support network, because ive never formed any in my life.
people tend to back away from me and reject me once they find out what im like.
i only have my aging mother of 58 , whos done her best to be there for me, but cant really do much to help anymore , except only encourage and advise.
she lives alone or visits her old partner from years ago, she has emphazema , shes doing ok, but cant get around like she once did..
my ankle is injured due to a sprain a year ago – torn ankle ligaments, its very weak – have to watch how i walk on it – was told it will take time to heal.
have cracked , teared , cuts on the skin on the head of my penis , im waiting for a 3rd opinion after prior dermatologist said there was no skin disorder – ive been it could be due to ‘ excessive masturbation ‘
im worried how it looks if anything because most penis heads are smooth, – im worrying whether the cracked skin will clear..

Members to live in their constituency and the family to use only local state schools and National Health facilities.
No time wasting traditions.
No alcohol on sale in the House.

i have a long mental health history and a minor criminal one.
i feel ruined, like everybody knows my face and that ive been ‘ blacklisted ‘ somehow.
and these feelings are just confirmed when people treat me like they have been, in subtle, personal hostile ways, singling me out.
i feel my history will go against me to accomplish personal lifes goals- and on top of that i feel branded, labelled, tarnished….like i have a stigma that can never be shaken.
ive aged physically at 30, i have 2 missing teeth, dermatological problems on my penis. cracking on the skin in the head of my penis (pronounced ) other physical worries.
and on top of that people are personalizing everything towards me and treating me like a f***kcing mass murderer, seriously, what do i do ?
plus i feel people everyone has been influenced to stay away from me and not get involved by a large group of influencial people.
im a 32 year old man , encountered adversities, psychological problems , but ive fought to overcome them , now i have lived in a little flat for years in the uk , i dont own many material possessions except for my computer mainly , i dont get much money off sickness benefits .
struggling still to get the adequate psychiatric help.
but overall im happy with where iam , its a base to work from, to try and improve my life to better things – i have my dreams and goals still that keep me going forward , that drive me on.
my biggest goal is to live in my own house in a quiet coastal seaside village in england or europe – a tall order you might say for someone like me with a psychiatric history and criminal background , prison and violent history , for someone thats never had a job – but still , im determined and want to work on trying to get there , to reach that goal.
i get really annoyed when i turn on the news on internet streams and i see terrorist attacks , extremists , bomb blasts , the inept actions of our uk government etc – i get enraged because i dont want it to threaten or interfere with my security here in britain.
when i hear of unrest or attacks or terror threats , or wars – or any negative news in the press – i think ” you bstards , you better not come near me or threaten my security ” and i clench my teeth and really get annoyed.
i appreciate the life ive been given inspite of the adversities , those i can work on – and i dont want anything to come near or fckng threaten my security, nothing to do with me – so stay away.
can anyone relate to this ? or just how do i calm my fears about worldy events and worrying about things im not in control of ?

My problem is on April 6th 2007 I signed a phone contract with vodafone via phones4u.
A representative who no longer works for phones4u (unsuprisingly) offered me what seemed like an unbelievable deal so I signed up for an 18 month contract.
Unfortunately the deal is unbelieveable and is now a matter of misrepresentation, exploitation of consumer rights, staff not meeting their contractual obligations.
I believe I am within my rights to expect the representatives to provide their service with reasonable care and skill which hasn’t taken place with regards to this contract. I believe it is a criminal offence for traders to say something untrue about goods or services as the representative working on behalf of Vodafone at phones4u has also done in this case.
The contract proposed to me was mis described as doesn’t conform with the contract.
I have consulted the consumer rights bureau already. I’m looking to reference what the law actually states in corespondance. Any help much apprecited. Any pointless answers will be removed.
i think the number would certainly come down if there were no immigrants, especially those from the carribean and jamaican backgrounds. they are criminals. i’d rather have my own british people committing them. go home idiots.
What is the point in letting in unskilled workers, uneducated people, those with no or few financial resources, those who cannot speak the language of the country and those with questionable criminal backgrounds? How does this benefit a country?
Sure the only benefit a country receives from immigration is when it involved highly skilled/educated, financially solvent, well-vetted individuals who have something to contribute to the country they are coming to?

Good point, but then there are plenty of British people who work in MacDonalds, Pull Pints, Bus Tables etc as well (I’ve done it myself!) – not all Brits are highly skilled and educated you know! Students still need something to do in the summer. And as for all the "dole bums" maybe they should be given a choice – clean this toilet or no more benefit.

I ride a mountain bike, so when I get hurt I get hurt big time. When I ask my GP for a sick note is for a reason (say I got my leg split open and I cannot walk). The other day I did ask him about it, and he said their is some pressure put on his back due to some political matters and policies in place. My question is quite simple: what’s all of this crap to do with science at all. Not so long I go I could read in the paper Cambridge University had refused proposal from Labour members to open its doors to less favoured students. Cambridge University’s response was its function was not to level up social imbalances but to improve on research and science. If I feel an employment form, I do not want them to ask me about my ethnic background, for this has nothing to do with the job’s role as it is. In one occasion, they refused me some job interview for a teaching position on the account they need an ethnic minority person to deal with a class of asiatic background students. They did not even ask me whether I could speak the language. When you ask them about it, they say they need to track down ethnic flows to provide the government with social data proper to some social needs. All of this is crap and very racist too. What do you guys make of all of this.

Does it make any sense Cambridge’s response to this political pressure to change its student’s profile? Is it fair? When a GP looks at your leg all he should be worried about is your leg (that is, what it looks like and whether you need antibiotics or whatever) and give you a sick note if you really need it. It is not my fault ethnic minority students achieve poorly at school, so I am not happy when they push things on my due to this political correctness kind of thing gone mad. As a mater of fact, I cannot improve on skin colour, so it is only qualifications proper to the job’s role they should be worried about. Is this what you call science?
Seafret: If you put pressure on a GP to do what you want, what you are saying is that GP is stupid and that he cannot tell the good apart from the bad. Do doctors need politicians to tell them when they should operate on a patient too. Why is it that a panic stricken woman is dictating drug policy laws to those responsible to preserve them? I think we should listen more to Cambridge and understand what its complain is all about.

Carol: you are right when you say you quite do not understand. I am not going on about me and, as a matter of fact, I did not qualify for that job as I cannot speak any Asiatic languages at all. But this is not the point. What I complain about is this political trend to level up social maters this way. If it is the case ethnic minority students achieve poorly at school, you won’t be able to sort the problem out this way. It is very racist to refuse a teacher on the account he is white. Ethnic minority policies are meant to do good, but I think it will be better in case we just give ethnic minority students a fair chance to achieve better at school right from the beginning. If I have better qualifications than somebody else, I mean, end of the conversation (and please do not ask me about my ethnic background as I fill my job application form in). And if it is just for the records…

I`ve got to have a criminal record background check done so i can help at my sons school. My problem is about 12yrs ago when i was 17 i got a caution for possession of canabis i need to know who will find out about it? Will my sons school see my record or will it just be looked at by some sort of educational board.
I applied for a job and was told they wanted to interview me, and was asked to send in more documents. A few of those documents will take me some time to get (such as the criminal background check) and I asked if it was okay if I sent the documents I already have first, and then send the other documents as soon as I get them.

One evening a woman who I never met or knew knocked at my door and said derogatory comments about me for not paying my rent, I told her I had visitors and it had nothing to do with her, she said “I am the landlords wife”. I went to go back into my house and she grabbed my wrist causing scratches, I pulled her hand off my wrist and she fell to the ground. (there were no real injuries to her or me) She called the police to have me arrested for assault so I called the police too for her assault on me. NOTHING HAPPENED no Police ever came.
Three weeks later the Police did come to arrest me for assault and to search my house for forged passports that the Landlord told them I had. (he lied) they took me to the station and took statements about the assault on the Landlords wife, bailed me for 1 month on police bail. Nobody took up my complaint about her assaulting me despite me complaining 2 times to Police, on the 3rd time at a different station they took my statement about her assaulting me. (this was 7 weeks after the assault)
My bail was up today and the Police Woman left a message that I should meet her so for the result from the Crown Prosecution service. She never showed up and left a note saying to come back in 1 more month pending investigations. She takes 1-2 weeks to return phone calls and if you miss her call she will not call again so I have to wait anoth 1-2 weeks. I have never been in trouble with The police In my life.
I also Have 2 jobs pending a CRB check (criminal background check) as I work with vulnerable Adults so this Police Woman is ruining my career by her mistreatment and incompetence. Who do I need to complain to about the way I have been treated.
I can’t believe that the Police never showed up and three weeks later expect to complete a full investigation long after the fact.
I think she is racist as I am from America and I am Black.
This all happened in Prestwich Manchester UK and the Police Woman works at Whitefield.
This case is Not about rent, it’s about an assault on myself that police failed to take action until forced to by me. The accuser got preferential treatment and the Police are not professional or timely for such a trifling matter that was just a spat. I accept that this is not racism as many people have now told me that the police in UK are totally useless with everyone. Too busy catching motorists and other easy prey. Thanks for all your answers.
My rented flat was burgled while I was away on holiday. The estate agent asked for permission to install a new, more secure door. I gave them permission to install the door while I was at work. When I got home that night I noticed that my laptop was missing. I asked them about it and they said they couldn’t explain what happened and that the people who installed the door were trusted contractors. I called the police and they interviewed both individuals. After the interviews the police served a search warrant on the nephew’s flat, but did not find the laptop. The police told me the nephew has prior convictions for theft, and that’s why they were able to obtain a warrant. I don’t want to file another claim with my contents insurance company after having filed one a few weeks ago. What I really want is for the estate agent to compensate me for my stolen laptop. Do I have any recourse, legal or otherwise? Do estate agents have a responsibility to obtain a criminal background check on their contractors? Thanks…

i have borderline pd and ptsd symptoms, ive suffered a misfortunate hard life so far , i struggle with paranoia, high anxiety, panic problems and agoraphobia, and rage , aggression problems , although ive improved and dont have outbursts in public anymore , like i used to countless times – iam presently chasing help from the psychiatric facilities.
ive never learned social and assertiveness skills i feel, to know who iam, learnt my value or worth , suffered victimization, being oppressed, bullying , which greatly damaged my self esteem.

I use a bus service to get to school. The bus company is a disgrace and the conditions of the buses can be terrible. The drivers often swear at other drivers and, in some cases, at the pupils. They use their mobiles while driving, which is now illegal in England, and use foreign workers ( i have nothing against foreign people, it’s just that sometimes they don’t understand you and therefore do not stop at your stop).
However, recentley, one of the bus drives was arrested for selling pirate DVD’s. Since then, he has been allowed to drive about 50 children to school. My question is:-
Am i allowed to use The Freedom of Information Act (2000) to find if all the drivers have been security checked/criminal background check (CRB) to see if they actually have been safety checked or even to use the act to know information which can be damaging? (damaging as in safe to work with children)
The reason is im writing a letter to my council.

I’ve lived with my bf for about 7 months, and I’ve been with him for 2 years. He’s always had a hard time keeping a job, but I loved him enough to deal with taking most of the financial pressure on myself. Since we’ve been together I’ve maintained a full-time job, and put myself through a year of college (I’m 20), recently, the bills, rent, and my own car payment bills have overwhelmed me, and my mom has had to step in and help.. she can’t help me any longer, so I know I need to get out. He has no job & a criminal background, so he has issues getting one, no school experience, and a temper.. I’m planning on moving out within the next month.. I truly do love him, but I have to let him go.. I don’t even think he loves me anymore (I went to the ER the other night & had to call my mom, because he was mad at me, and left me there in pain).. how will I cope and what can I do to get over him the quickest.. I’m very attached & this will be extremely hard for me. When do I tell him I’m leaving?

granted i get paranoid, suffer with rage emotions, and people probably remember my rage outbursts in public places and know my face so think they can see fit to judge me and treat me how they want – and that makes me very angry.
im not imagining this behaviour either , its really happening, people, shop workers look, and stare at me in crowded places, in supermarkets in the local area.
for that i hate britain.

I applied for a job a while ago and a few days ago I got a reply saying I am being considered for position and they are asking me to mail certain documents, such as criminal background documents, references, copy of passport, etc.
However, it doesn’t say anything about a deadline for submitting these documents. It’s important for me to find out as getting some of these documents, such as the criminal background document, takes approximately two weeks to receive from the national authorities.
Does it sound like I’m not really interested in the job if I write and ask when the deadline is for submitting the requested documents?

Hello i have quite a good educational background, however, when i was younger i got into a lot of trouble and now have quite an extensive criminal record. As a result i have only had dead end jobs and i am sick of it. Is there any way i could get a decent career minded job?
John, a close friend of mine (I am not at liberty to disclose his last name) has a criminal record in the United Kingdom, which involves:-
1) Arrested, detained, and cautioned for collecting money without a license in the UK in Feb. 1994.
2) Arrested for domestic violence in Feb. 2007, but subsequently de-arrested because his family didn’t wish to pursue a complaint (which is still traceable by a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure in the UK).
3) Arrested, detained, and cautioned for criminal battery in the UK in April 2007.
John has always been fascinated with America and he is desperate to emigrate for political reasons. In order to do so, he needs to obtain a "Waiver of ineligibility" in connection with his criminal record. However, any port of entry could still refuse him on discretionary grounds. Moreover, John is concerned his criminal record might be extensive enough to have him permanently debarred from obtaining a Green Card, which is a permanent immigrant’s visa to the US. Legally speaking, it’s impossible to become a US Citizen unless you’ve been a lawful permanent resident for at least 5 years prior to one’s application to become a US Citizen.
As a friend, I have tried my best to help John in this matter. John is unable to pay the requisite fees to consult a US immigration lawyer in the UK. I have offered to lend him all the necessary monies to allow him to consult Gudeon & McFadden US Immigration Lawyers in London; but John is a proud man and he has outrightly rejected my offer to lend him this money.
I myself have a limited knowledge of US Immigration Law, which is based on a few information available on the web.
As I understand, certain individuals with a criminal background could still be theoretically rehabilitated over a period of 15 years provided they have immediate family in the US e.g. spouse or dependent minors who are either Permanent Residents or US Citizens. John is previously divorced with no children, but he is seriously considering the possibility of joining an American expatriate organization in this country in order to marry a US citizen, which would afford him the option of being rehabilitated over the next 12 years (given that his most recent criminal offense was committed in April 2007). However, I believe that only certain categories of criminals can be legally rehabilitated according to US immigration law, which depends on the seriousness of one’s overall criminal background. Hence, I am not sure whether John would be eligible for rehab. under the circumstances of his criminal background.
Moreover, I am advising John about a further option, which is to gain entry to the US much sooner on the grounds of hardship to his immediate family in the US i.e. spouse or dependent minors under the age of 18 years. I understand that US Congress provides a facility for individuals with a criminal record to obtain a US Green Card on the basis of alleged hardship to the individual’s spouse or dependent minors. However, John is also concerned about the social stigma attached to any claims about alleged hardship to his family, because he says it would be tantamount to "begging" for clemency from the US Department of Homeland Security. Last but not least, John is concerned no decent American lady would willingly choose to get involved with somebody of his background, knowing full well it would require her full cooperation with regards to filing for his entry on the basis of hardship on her behalf or on behalf of any future children born in the US – no decent, intelligent or educated female would be complicit with such an arrangement, which would require her to go completely out of her way to ensure such a plan would have any hope of success. My dear friend is concerned no decent woman would accept him now in connection with his criminal record, which would almost certainly prevent his entry to the US in the short term – that is, nobody but "trailer trash" would go along with such a hair brain scheme as this.
I would appreciate a definitive response from any individual (i.e. either a student or US attorney) who is legally qualified to advise on this subject. First, is it legally possible for somebody with John’s criminal history to be rehabilitated over the next 12 years? Second, is there any social stigma attached to filing for entry to the US on the basis of alleged hardship to one’s immediate family? If this winds up a bit long, please take the time to read it. The kindness on your part wont be forgotten, but I should warn you it is an upsetting story.
First, a little background. In my childhood there was this kid who always bullied me, let’s call him James. He would always pick on me because he knew I never fought back, I hated the concept of fighting, and so just took the odd beating or put down.
When I was sixteen years old and the world was just starting to rear it’s ugly head, I had a girlfriend, Emma. We had been childhood sweethearts for three years at that point and she was everything to me. I am 46 now and I can honestly say, I have never loved anything or anyone as much as I loved her at that time. One night I was asleep alone, which was unusual as we usually stayed at eachothers houses whenever possible. At around 11PM the phone rang and woke me up. I answered and it was Emma’s mum, crying. She told me Emma had been hurt and was in hospital.
I rad to the hospital and waited until I could see her, which wound up being around 2AM. She was on heavy medication for two broken ribs, but could still talk. I asked her what happened and she told me it was James and his friends, and that they had hurt her trying to hold her down, but she fainted and so wasn’t sure what they had done to her when she was out. Just seeing her there, the most precious thing in my life, the sweetest, most innocent girl you could imagine with black eyes and a burst nose, I snapped. I promised her everything would be okay and waited for her to fall asleep.
It was about 3-4AM and I was utterly heartbroken. Being 16 is a hectic time in anyones life, you don’t understand yourself and you definately don’t understand the world. Just the thought of James and his slimy, disgusting friends having their hands on her, doing god knows what just pushed me over the edge. As strange as it may seem, I never once thought about the consequences of my actions. I understood them as the right thing to do, as justice. I walked back to my house and got the old ice axes from the basement, stuck them in my bag and walked to James’ house. I got there and the streets were silent, but I could hear music coming from inside, so I knocked on the door with an ice axe behind one leg. It was James who answered, and without a second thought I sank it into his chest six or seven times. Two of his friends came through because of the commotion, and in my rage I killed one of them on the spot and the other died shortly after in hospital. The police arrived not much later because of the call from Emma’s parents, and they found me lying in the hallway, curled up and crying.
So here it is, I missed out on my teenage years, growing up, everything from then to now. Would you consider me a criminal? Please reply in any way you see fit, I want to get as broad a range of opinions as possible. Write as much or as little as you want.
GMTV this morning 10/07/2008. a lady had applied to do work at her childrens local school . The school welcomed her then did a CRO (criminal record office) check and it came back with that she was ,Drug dealer , drug user , been in mental insitutions , been to prison many times ,fruad convictions , theft convictions , she had wrote to the CRO and requested they correct this because it was not her , they stated to her that they would have to take her fingerprints photos and do full background check on her before they would correct this .Is this the state gone mad when an innocent hard working person could be branded a criminal without them even knowing . What would you do , and what advice would you give her .
She stated she had spoken to a solicitor but for heim to do this it would cost her approx £500 why should this be so they should do it for free

I signed up for this background search site named RecordsArea.com. And I can hardly find Information on myself. I know for a fact I have a criminal record but I’d like to see what’s on it. I work in the financial services in the UK, and am looking to get another role within the industry, but with a different company.
Unfortunately, I also have an unspent criminal conviction for a driving offence I committed approximately 3.5 years ago.
My current company know about the conviction, as I was working for them when it all happened. They have not had a problem with it as it is not relevant to my work; however, I am now at the second interview stage for a new role elsewhere, and am worried about disclosure.
They have not asked me whether I have any unspent convictions, so i have not disclosed it. But i need to know about my rights if I get the role:
1) Can the company perform a CRB Background check without my permission?
2) If my conviction comes to light, can they dismiss me because of it, if they never asked me about it?
3) If they ask me to disclose after I accept the job, can they dismiss me if the conviction has no relevance to the role?

A few more things to add… As mentioned above, I’m in the UK, so I really need advice on what my rights are here. I also realise that if I lie about convictions they have the right to fire me for it, so this purely relates to if they never ask me to disclose.
It may be worth mentioning that no one was hurt in the driving offence (except me and the car), and my record both before and since have been spotless. I was given a community sentence (3yrs probation), with no jail time.
The role I’m applying for is also entirely office based, with no call for any driving whatsoever.

My father was arrested in India for property issue with one tenant (my father is the owner of the property.) Tenant was having some political links and wanted to grab the property using power and without giving much money. Tenant filed a case against my father (my afther actually did not do anything) and then he was arrested for the same on section 506(2) for 10 hours (the offence of criminal intimidation). He was later declared not-guilty and the case was closed. The case was closed in 1999.
1. What should he write for above question? If he needs to write YES then what are the chances of rejection of VISA or will he be the victim of this?

I am in another country and have applied for a job that asked for a background check..Now will they look in my country of origin? I have a DUI and I don’t want to not get the job because of it. Do I have to claim it under there laws even though it was in another country?

Honest, hard working people, waiting to start jobs in hospitals, care homes and schools etc., are being kept from these vital positions because the "police" are too idle to take the time to check out their possible criminal backgrounds on which these people now need clearence in order to start work!

That’ll leave the guns in the posession of the "good " gun owners that the rest of society can trust not to go misusing the guns, while the guns are taken away from dangerous individuals.

Paying for the mental assessments? Well it should be down to the gun purchasers. Well if they can afford to spend US0 or more on a weapon I think they can afford to pay for assessment and monitoring. Or maybe a bullet tax to help pay for it!
Do they check your family for criminal offences and if they had any would it affect you adopting a child. Also if your partner had offences from 15 years ago would this affect it too.

I am a Mexican citizen. In the 90′s I lived in Argentina and back then I was stupid and comited a crime for which I was sentenced to several year that I served and got released. Now I am happily married and living in Dominican Republic. Now I want to get the Dominican citizenship but first I have to sign a document declaring that I have never been arrested or sentenced for any crime in anywhere in the world, and in case that I lie in my declaration and they find out, I can get up to 3 years for lieing in an official document. I am looking into carrying out two weeks work experience at a secondary school in the UK as part of the PGCE application process. I understand that i need a CBC, however i was wondering how to go about getting one? Once i have the documents, do i just give it to the schools where i want to carry out the work experience? I was a resident of Louisiana at the time of the citation. The ticket was issued by a city policemen, I didn’t have a court date, I sent in the money for the fine, and had to give up my drivers licsense for 90 days in La. and then carry SR-22 insurance for a couple of years. I’m currently a resident of TX, my drivers record here is clean.
