I had a group interview yesterday for an entry-level job (there were 6 others besides me). The interviewers liked a couple of my answers & i got a favorable impression from them. They emailed me the same day asking me to move through the application process & fill out background check and pre-employment forms. They didn’t say I got it for sure, but does it sound like it??

I was fired on my last job, the supervisor & I are not in good terms, definitely he will not give me a good feedback.If I did not mention my last employment (work there for a month only) upon background check/ SS# will it appear on my record? Will the new prospective employer find it?

Being considerd for employment in Oregon and while doing my background check a prior employer was negative in saying I was not elgible for rehire. Background is I relocated from the midwest to Arizona for a management position with a paper company. Several months after employment the company went through a firing blitz & the new manager from day one was biased making comments about my age and pay and from the start I could not do anything right. He also offered to let me out of my relocation contract worth 20K + if I would quit. The employment ended for me three months later with his decision to move in another direction of team building and giving me several weeks pay after 8-9 months of employment, I was never counseled, written up or given any discipline. Now a possible employer came back saying the HR mngr said i was not rehireable. This companys policy has always been to only verify dates of employment and title. Now prospective employer feels I may have done something wrong.

I filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy at the beginning of this month and last week I had an interview with a bank for a Universal Banker position. On Friday they called me and offered me the job and my salary and I accepted it. She said that they were going to do a background & employment check this week and I am supposed to start March 3. She did not say anything about doing a credit check, but can they take back their offer if they do see that I have filed for bankruptcy???

My husband was called by a potential employer for a pre-employment meeting regarding his background check. He had previously been given the job offer, already passed the drug screening. To our astonishment he was asked about a felony, that the Company they contracted to do the check, claimed they found, said it happened in Jan of 2001, stating it was a DWI with involuntary manslaughter that he was sentenced to serve 10 years, but only served 120 days. This is absolutely FALSE!!! My husband is an engineer and was in his senior year of college. We went directly to the Criminal Clerk of Courts and obtained a official sealed copy of his criminal record & w/only 1 small misdemeanor that’s from a traffic accident for failure to stop in 1994, thats all. Hes never ever, even had a DWI.
What in the world can we do to FIX this horrifying problem?

.. are they required to let you know what the issue was? Or should you expect not to hear from them?

& also does education and previous employment come up on the background check? I recently had one done for a regular sales associate job at a gift store.

I had a interview with walmart Thursday & they said if my background check comes back in time I can start Tuesday! I have a clean background! No arrests or anything! I was wondering if it will be back in time!?

I just took a drug & criminal test for employment at PNC Bank and they haven’t got back to me yet I took the test on Friday @ 3 p.m. they were closed for President’s day on Monday.

I always assumed that my girlfriend was what she claimed to be, a simple country girl turned stripper in the big city. But after reading all these situations people get into here in marriage & divorce, it makes me wonder if there are any secrets in her past life, skeletons in the closet if you will. Should I get a PI to run a background check?

My question is — If I’m going for a job, I of course have to put down I have a misdemeanor c for disorderly conduct, but do I need to state it was for theft or does the disorderly conduct take care of that?

I just don’t want to apply for a job & they do the background check, but it shows up misdemeanor c disorderly conduct — theft.

I have 2 felonies (petty theft 2004, sale of marijuana 2005) on my record and had put them down on my application, but was never asked about them at the interviews. I did sign a consent to do a background check and on the consent form I noted that I had 2 felonies again. The woman in personnel said that Walmart gives felons a second chance, but almost 4 weeks later I got a rejection letter. They said that they will not be offering me a job at this time…

I was asked to submit a criminal records check by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation & Identification (BCI). I am currently living in other state, is there any method I could submit my fingerprints to BCI without going back to Ohio?

i want to know what shows up in the background check, because, i’m about to get a job, but they need to do the background check. and i dont have any felonies, but i have a few misdemeanors, & or infractions, and want to know if those will affect me getting a job.

My boyfriend had an interview for a wonderful job. He’s pretty much got it, after they get the background check results in. He’s a a little worried, because he was arrested & charged for theft under 0, about a year ago. But when he went to court, the charges were dropped. We live in Tennessee. I was charged with a disorderly conduct in NY state in February of 2008. I pleaded not guilty and was a given an ACD. They said that I would not be charged with the crime if I stayed out of trouble for 6 months. I did so. Will the charge of Disorderly Conduct show up on my background check and should I disclose of it before hand? Also is it an Arrest & Conviction or a Minor Traffic Violation?

I took a drug test for pre-employment back in college in my "bad" days for a job with BB&T and apparently it was not long enough since the last time I had done something. This was almost 2 1/2 years ago and I have accepted a job pending my background check. Will the test results show on a background check that the new employer will use? or is that something that would not show up?

To be more specific, I was given a form by my employer to give my consent for them to do a "Consumer Report & Investigative Consumer Report Information – California" background check. i had an interview at ross and it went great she had sign a paper for a background check on thursday it is tuesday now. i want to start working already.

I recently moved from KY to TN about a week ago. I was offered a job & they told me to bring in my driver’s license for a background check. Will my KY driver’s license work or will I need to get a TN one before they can do the check?

About 5 years ago I got into a little trouble due to someone giving me a fake check, the conviction was expunged long story short. Last year I was offered a job with Wells Fargo bank & then they withdrew their offer after my background check didn’t pan through… How were they able to view this expunged record & what exact employer type has access to these "destroyed" records?
FYI, I was never arrested & also, I was specifically told that I would not have to check "yes" on an application to conviction. I’ve also already held federal & state positions without problem.

And how accurate are these? I got a full background check on someone (through US SEARCH) who has a very common last name. All of the info seemed to be right except a few addresses and a marriage record.. he is swearing up & down that he was mixed up with someone else too! Just seems odd everything else was right! But I was wondering if it is possible to get 2 people mixed up on the same report? Should I have went with Intellus or something?

I had 3 versions of java sun on pc. Uninstalled everything with the coffee cup and reinstalled latest version because another program told me my version of Java Sun was outdated and had security holes. While downloading Java, Spybot S&D came up twice telling me the download was trying to put malware on my computer and that it was blocking that part of download. One of them had to do with a keylogger and dont remember what other one was. I finished Java download and it seems to be working OK. My microsoft security essentials needs to be uninstalled and redone because it will not download any updates. I am supposed to uninstall all protective programs that run automatically in the background. I thought free version of spybot S&D was a manually started program so could leave it on pc while re doing MSE. Now I am not so sure. I just paid to get Security Suite blocking/blackmail malware off this PC and cannot afford to do it again so REALLY need to get this pc protected with freeware ASAP! HELP and MANY THANKS ahead of time!

Trying to get a job with pg&e…I did my drug diversion and the cases were dismissed… I was on probation… Which is now done and long gone.. My last arrest was 8 years ago… I never know what box to check on my applications… It’s asking if I’ve ever been convicted… With a dismissed case is it a conviction??

I ask because I know that if a potential employer calls a former employer you were fired from, it is unlawful for that employer to give out that kind of information. Apparently, they’re not even allowed to give out the salary you made.

But, what I don’t know is if the company you were fired from releases the information–the fact that you were fired–to background check companies … or puts it in some sort of database that any background check company can access.

I’m really gearing for this one job and I don’t want to have that one job that I worked for more than 3 years ago to make me ineligible for this job. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.
I’m not asking if they call my past employer. I’m asking if it will show up on a background employment check. Ya know, those companies that do nothing but background checks on individuals for other companies for hiring purposes…
I’m also not asking if they check. I KNOW they check cuz an AT&T employee emailed me telling me which kinds of background checks they do: (county, federal, etc), a driving check, and an employment check. Those were his exact words.

I emailed him explaining that I was working with a credit agency which would show why I am delinquent on some of my credit cards. And he wrote back thanking me, telling me he didn’t think they did a credit check, but that they did the above ones.

This is about a lady called Aafia Siddiqui. I’ve been keeping up with what she’s been thru and believe that she is a victim of unfair circumstances. It’s been a while since she has been sentenced but I still struggle to come to terms with why no seems to care?
Aafia Siddiqui was kidnapped from Islamabad, Pakistan in 2003 along with her three children. America denied knowing anything about her and she appeared in the US around 2007.
She was accused of being arrested in Afghanistan, of being a terrorist with links to Al-Qaeda and was called the female Osama Bin Laden by the media.
All terror charges were dropped!
She was then accused of opening fire on US soldiers. Apparently, a soldier placed his gun down for some reason and she handled the weapon when their backs were turned. She fired but missed. The story is absolutely absurd but she has been found guilty and is now serving time. The judge said something along the lines of “remember, it’s the word of a US marine thats on trial” before the jury left to make a decision.
Now, Pakistan is denying that they picked her up and no one is accepting responsibility.
Considering her background, she does not match the profile of a criminal of any sort. She is way too weak to handle any sort of weapon and the evidence to support the absurd story was and is weak!
She was shot at point blank range by an American soldier and I believe she has kidney problems as a result. Her two younger children are still missing (assumed dead) and the elder (12 at the time) is now mentally weak.

Last Thursday I had a interview at a check cashing store & they copied my Social Security and ID and said they had to do a background check & send it to HR. I already did the drug test last thursday in the managers office (saliva test) im sure it came back clean because i do no drugs. I’m just waiting for them to call…and wondering how long does it usually take?

Just ordered a report from Intelius (for possible dating purposes)…it was a good report, nothing bad stood out from it. In fact, the details of the report matched everything he had told me.

But can ANYONE find out if you ordered a report on them?

The reason I ordered was b/c safety measures of online "dating". I guess I got NERVOUS & ordered the report b/c of what happened to a co-worker,"Sue". She was a member of eHarmony.com who met a "nice" guy, "Bill". The relationship grew & Bill eventually moved in w/her 6 mos later. A week later, he asked Sue to marry him the next month. Family members & friends became concerned & ordered an extensive background check on Bill. As it turns out, Bill was a married man w/60+ children. Sue was about to become his 10th wife! Bill was noted as a pontential suspect with the law & police were looking for him. Bill was notified by a friend who then contacted Bill after she was contacted by Sue’s family by contact details of the report.
As the details unfolded, Bill became very angry & Sue willingly went w/him (he had a gun). He came up to our workplace!! She was not heard or seen @ 48 hours from anyone. Talk about a very scary moment for us.

When they surfaced, he claimed to be "born-again" Christian. After a month went by, the relationship ended.

I’m applying for jobs and some of them say this. I assume it means they look into you background and see if you have any convictions or a criminal record?

I’m mostly clean apart from one thing – about a year ago my friends and I were spotted by security guards looking through bins – we go around collecting discarded objects to use in art projects. It’s called found materials. The security call the police, the police stop & search us, I still have the receipt for the search – it says they were looking for evidence of theft/burglary and nothing was found. It has my current address on it.

Will this affect me at all?

i have borderline personality disorder and ptsd, ive lived an horrific, traumatic life.

im 30 years old and since the age of 17 ive had a big problem with rage, and rage outbursts, paranoia, very low self esteem, high anxiety and panic.

ive had anger, aloofness and rage towards people for a long time- i used to lose it in public, lose control of rage act threatening towards people….pick fights…shout, clench my teeth, stare at people etc.

i just want to put the past behind me and achieve goals of a good paying job in computers, and finally to move away from the uk, to start a fresh in a hot climate.

ive never been employed, or got any qualifications…never formed any relationships ever.
i have a long mental health history and a minor criminal one.

i feel ruined, like everybody knows my face and that ive been ‘ blacklisted ‘ somehow.

and these feelings are just confirmed when people treat me like they have been, in subtle, personal hostile ways, singling me out.

It has been 2 weeks since I submitted my onlilne application for a background check. Still has not gone through. Does anybody have experience with international background&employment&education check?

I’ve lived with my bf for about 7 months, and I’ve been with him for 2 years. He’s always had a hard time keeping a job, but I loved him enough to deal with taking most of the financial pressure on myself. I don’t even think he loves me anymore (I went to the ER the other night & had to call my mom, because he was mad at me, and left me there in pain).. how will I cope and what can I do to get over him the quickest.. I’m very attached & this will be extremely hard for me. When do I tell him I’m leaving?

i have a few convictions on my record when i was a youth.
its been nearly 5 years since my last conviction, all my charges i pleaded guilty to, my convictions are:
2x burglary & theft (dwelling)
1x theft from a motor vehicle
1x failer to surrender to custody at appointed time
& 1x breach of community & rehabilitation order

and since my last conviction ive worked a couple of jobs and been to college.

Is it possible to do an official background check online if I have his SS# & Driver’s Liscense #…for free?If U have anything that can help,please let me know.I have never done anything like that before but U know the saying…"if it seems to good to be true,it prbably is"?Well I wanna find out ahead of time lol.Thanks
