What are the tests the employer will perform during the background check? Ex; Criminal record/ credit checks/ drug policy/. I was terminated from employment (for not reaching the targets of the employer. Will they inform to the new employer?
How to effectively address this problem?

I have received an offer from an insurance co as a customer svc rep in their call center. I accepted their offer and now have to pass a drug test (no problem) and a background investigation. I presume it will be a criminal record check (no problem) and employment record (no problem) but my credit isn’t great. I have a bankruptcy from 2005 but all of my current credit is on time and good.

If all of the other items are in order and I was already given an offer, will that one thing cause them to rescind their offer?

I found out some things about my daughters new boyfriend today. He has lied about a lot of things. I don’t want to talk to her about this. Until I have some proof. He is in the military has lied about being in Iraq recently. He was in Afganistan in 05. Can I get his military records? He also told us he worked for the police dept. He said he went through the academy in Idaho Falls. There isn’t one there. Can I call the police department and ask them to verify if he ever worked there? Need to check his employment record. Besides hiring a PI. Which is expensive. Where can I get a very basic background check? Please need some help soon.
I’m not looking for a criminal record from the police. He said he was a police officer. I should be able to verify this. I’m not creepy for wanting to protect my daughter. They both live with me. He has a gun in the house. Before I start throwing around accusations. I want proof that he is lying. She has already been through this once with the father of her daughter. since he moved in 2 weeks ago. She has been paying for everything. If he has a job. Why isn’t he paying for his things?

My husband was called by a potential employer for a pre-employment meeting regarding his background check. He had previously been given the job offer, already passed the drug screening. To our astonishment he was asked about a felony, that the Company they contracted to do the check, claimed they found, said it happened in Jan of 2001, stating it was a DWI with involuntary manslaughter that he was sentenced to serve 10 years, but only served 120 days. This is absolutely FALSE!!! My husband is an engineer and was in his senior year of college. We went directly to the Criminal Clerk of Courts and obtained a official sealed copy of his criminal record & w/only 1 small misdemeanor that’s from a traffic accident for failure to stop in 1994, thats all. Hes never ever, even had a DWI.
What in the world can we do to FIX this horrifying problem?

I just got hired today to work at Target and im 17 years old. The only thing left before my orientation is a background check. I always thought of it as just a check on your criminal record, which I am not concerned with because I dont have one. However I read the info paper they sent me home with and it says its going to check criminal, consumer report, info. on my character, general reputation, personal characteristics, mode of living and credit standing. also public and educational records. verification of prior employment, reference check etc. The sheet says it may contain this stuff. being a 17 year old kid and going for an entry level position how much of this are they going to look into? The only part im worried about is i didnt exactly have perfect attendence in school and didnt exactly have 0 detentions either. Im also worried because I was hired at a pizza place but before my training was complete they let me go and I didnt put that on my app cuz I dont count that as a previous employer. Will they be able to find out I ever trained at that pizza place and got let go? or will they never know as long as i dont tell them? Do I really have anything to worry about or am I good?

I am not worried about my criminal record, my only concern is if they would contact my past employers. I already got a verbal offer, now all the documents have been transferred to their HR department. I dont know if they would contact my past employers and verify my employment history even I got my verbal offer? Also I didnt provide any references or contact info to them. Only the company name and my position. How high are the chances of calling my past employers?

I have 4 driving tickets on my record, one for not stopping completely before turning on a red light, one for merging out of a right-turn-only lane, one for driving HOV, and one for running a red light.

I also fudged alittle on my resume, for a position I put "Intern" instead of "Summer Associate."

For my references, I put a co-worker down, but I never really worked directly with him, we worked in different departments.

Will this make me fail my pre-employment background check?
I do not have a criminal record, have never been arrested.
They’re not checking my credit history. They’re checking my education, employment (past 7 years), driving records, and criminal records.
The job is an Accounting position.
The company gave me a sheet of paper that had a bunch of items of a background screening and specifically checked what they were going to check. Credit history was not checked off. But it doesn’t matter anyway, i have a good credit history.

I told me co-worker about it, and he knows what to say as my reference.

I am really confused what kind of info that CRB Check shows… Will it show up your education background eg all schools you have gone to ect
What do I need to provide ?
If universities carry CRB check, can they ask other questions not related to criminal record and get you to answer?
What do they mean by exempted questions? As an indiviual cannot ask himself exempted question to get a CRB check done…

Im completely Irish and therefore i am a eu citizen. I want to join the FFL after finishing secondary education. I understand that you have to go to a legion post with your passport to join. I have no criminal record, piercings or tattoos. I have a strong background in martial arts such as Traditional Jiu Jitsu, Combat Hapkido, Kendo and MMA. I am in the light heavyweight division and Although I am only sixteen and have no black belts I have beaten three black belts in matches and have not lost a single match. I am fluent in English, nearly fluent in Irish and I am studying french.

can anyone give me any advice
plus I have read two books about the legion can any one recommend any other ones preferable personal accounts.

Previously I posted information on all these companies now that want to check your credit, and do background checks before they hire you. The question is this:

Aren’t you contributing to lawlessness by doing this? Suppose there is someone out there that has some unfavorable information on their record because LIFE HAPPENS TO US ALL, and you decide to not hire them because say they had a criminal record. Aren’t you adding to the criminal activity by not giving them jobs when they need jobs to rehabilitate themselves?

People are going to do what they have to do to survive. How are people supposed to rehabilitate their lives if no one will give them a chance? Also, for the Human Resources Supervisors, most of them don’t know how to make a decision, much less make a determination on whether or not someone is bad or good based on say a credit report or an arrest record. They just look at it and go oh this person filed bankruptcy, or this person has an arrest record, so they can’t have a job.

I think you are over looking some good hard workers that may want to reform their lives by making these kind of STUPID DECISIONS. Also, and I have seen this one, sometimes you hire people that have no blemishes on their records and they come into your companies and steal, miss time from work that costs the company money, lie and all sorts of other ails.

LIFE HAPPENS AND SOME DAY LIFE IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU TOO. Someone said it is survival of the fittest and it is, but it is also PATHETIC THAT PEOPLE THINK LIKE THAT.

I’m going through a criminal background check for a job, and I already took a drug test. It’s been over two weeks now and it seems like it’s taking forever. IDK if that’s good or bad, but my question is, if an employer conducts a criminal background check, what does that consist of?

Does an employer conducting a criminal background check consist of employment history check too or just criminal record?

This really fit, funny, cute and smart guy asked me out last week.(he used to go to my college) On the date he confessed he had a a criminal record for fighting and cocaine possession. He says that the fighting was defending his sister who has down syndrome(stupid drunk people were being horrible to her) I know he’s not lying cuz I have seen his sister, shall I keep seeing him? He shows no violence towards me and he let’s me wrap him around my little finger?

My sister is about to marry a guy who has a real bad history. I know he has been married before and I heard that abuse was involved, but don’t believe charges were ever filed.

Is possible that abuse allegations would be present in the divorce proceeding’s and if so are those part of the public record? Also, with out paying an expensive service, how would I be able to view his criminal record, and what parts of that are open to the general public?

Just looking for some input as to what goes on criminal records or gives you a criminal record that could affect employment and so on. Is it only IF you are convicted of a crime that it goes on your criminal record or does appearing in court for something show up on it as well? Any info would be great

My HALF brother has a criminal record for assault and possession of a class C drug, driving under aged etc. But he is my half brother and I don’t really like him. I live in Kent, UK. I was told by a Police Sergeant and a PCSO that this would not affect me at all because it is done on my merits by I am not sure.

Can any one help, Police Officers with brothers/ Sisters with records…

I have recently gone through an interview process and been offered a new job. My only concern is around the background check. I have no criminal record or history, but I did leave a previous job for undisclosed reasons, and have signed an NDA as a part of that severance. All I can say on that matter is that there was no malfeasance on my part, but I am still worried about what might come up when the background check is done.

I even have my direct manager from that job listed as a reference. I was a very good employee there, and she will say excellent things about me. But if they contact the HR department, I do not know what will be communicated. Can anyone offer expert insight as to how that all works? Thanks!
I worked for this previous employer for 6 years. That job was a significant part of my professional experience and qualification. So it is on my resume, and prospective employers will know that I worked there. So, knowing that, my question is about what the HR department legally can and likely will tell them about my dismissal, and not about whether they’ll find out that I worked there at all.

I had an interview this morning and the employers said that they cant hire me, the Human Resource Office has to, because it is a government job, and they have to do a thorough background check. And I have to get finger printed. What will they be looking for. I dont have a criminal record, no parking tickets, but my credit is all that. Just want to know. Thanks!

I know background check usually refers to criminal check. What about checking my employment history or contact my current/past employers? it tat also part of background check process? i dont have any criminal record, just worried about my past employers whether they would give me good references. I have been out of the job search market for quite someone. In fact, I have been at my most recent position nearly six years. Recently got a job offer and they are just going to do the background check. I am just curious what this covers. I am a legit person, education and job history – all honest and correct, no criminal record, no history of civil suits but I have less than perfect credit. Do you think that less than perfect credit disqualifies you for a job?

A friend of mine (whom i was planning on living with) recently got a job and an apartment. The real estate lady called the two of us telling us that there’s a problem with my potential roommate’s criminal record – but she couldn’t elaborate any further until he spoke with my roommate directly

He got in trouble for stealing goods from a department store and trying to enter a nightclub with a fake ID. Both were misdemeanors, although I don’t know which class/level in PA.

What’s the likelihood of him getting kicked out of the apartment, and him failing the background check by a large, multinational company (He’d be a sales guy) – thus losing employment?

If he does get everything sorted out, how long would it take?

I’m tight for time, smart to start looking for other places right away and not wait on him?

What is the difference between Martin Luther King Jr. and Al Sharpton who have been in and out of jail, than someone who has a criminal record?
If a poor person goes in a store and starts ending the food to protest hunger in the County, but is called a common criminal. Then Martin Luther King Jr. is a hero if the store is a bus ticket store? Why is that?

i have a criminal record for handling stolen goods to which i received 80 hours community service. this was a stupid mistake, but i have learned from this and feel i am a better person for it. i want to go on holiday to Mexico in November 2009 but i am worried i wont gain entry upon landing due to my criminal record.

unfortunatly im a person who has suffered a miserable life all my life – ive never really lived my life or done anything i want to.

had a very difficult miserable life – missed out on EVERYTHING thus far : relationships, friendships , employment, qualifications etc.

suffered severe abuse/ bullying throughout my life, im now 30 years old , i feel ive aged prematurly because of stress , i have a minor criminal record , ( carrying a knife in a rough nieghbourhood, carrying a snooker ball in a sock – assault , kicking someone – ) spent time in a psychiatric hospital for 18 months because i said things to scare psychiatrist because i wasnt recieving help in the community.

all that was about 7 years ago, since then ive been from pillar to post, ended up homeless for 9 months.

ive made alot of progress from how i once was – i used to have rage outbursts in public and lash out and pick fights with people, due to bottled up anger when i was bullied.

in the present im living in a one bedroom apartment in a dreary part of england on sickness disability – iam waiting for group therapy because thers is no individual psychotherapy in my area.

i was diagnosed with BPD and post traumatic stress traits.

i have physical problems, torn ankle ligaments, i need an operation on my left ankle – cracked skin on my penis, waiting for a 3rd opinion from a dermatologist – im out of shape badly because i have been inactive for so long. my physicality is weak.

the otherday i was on the phone talking, and in the background i was privy to another girl talking on the phone, she sounded young, white and caucasian , it sounded like she was getting sexual stimulation or sexual kicks by talking to some guy on the phone , in a squealy type voice with submissive tones she kept saying ” yeah , yeeeaaah , yeah…….yeaaah….yeah ”.

i felt really enraged listening to that because, while im working on bettering my life and trying to achieve my long term aims, some girl is obliviously enjoying life, simply, and getting off talking to someone.

while ive missed out on all that good stuff , and have to go through hell, as i always have done to get the life i want for myself..

and outside, life is just carrying on as normal, and people are having fun, getting their rocks off.

I am 42 yrs old. I was charged with misdimenor simple possesion back in 1981. Does this charge still remain on my record. How far back does, an employer(Sheriff’s Department) go back on your criminal record?

My boyfriend and I were trying to get an apartment but we were declined becuase they stated his criminal records show he commited a misdemeanor (assult). He has not ever been arrest or had any criminal problems and had never even lived in the city were the crime was commited. There is a great chance his brother did it since he has had problems in the past but he said he did not. How do we go about getting this information removed from his criminal record becuase we were unable to get an apartment since his criminal record says he commited assult. He will also be looking for a new job soon and we want to make sure this will not be an ongoing problem

But does anyone know if the UK actually shares our criminal record info with the US or Canada? Many people tell me that as long as you don’t declare it you will be fine, and then someone else comes along and says they know of someone who has been caught out.

What I want to hear is has anyone actually been caught themselves who can vouch for the fact that the US/Canada and the UK share criminal record information?

In case you’re wondering I served 8 months in prison for smuggling ecstasy (a very small amount)…I have been to Spain recently and my own country didnt even bother to check me out on return, so I’m obviously not considered highrisk.

I have been studying Political Science and Public Administration to become a lawyer. Since 2006 I have accumulated 2 criminal records. Can I still become an attorney with a criminal record on me? Both records are for assault. If not, what else in law can I pursue? Legal assistant, ect.

Well my daughters father has a criminal record. He has been without any problems for sometime now. Plus finding out he had a daughter also is keeping him on the right track. Well I guess he can’t hold a job or can’t find one. But I know he can.
Everytime I talk with him he always says he can’t get a job because of his record. But equal opportunity employment is what everyone holds as a written standard. So I don’t know why he is always telling me NO ONE is going to hire him. Although I know plenty of people must be working in the United States that have criminal records. What can I do. I tell him that this is no excuse anymore.

especialy if the individuals hold qualifications such as a degree, HND, A-Levels, Btec or other relavent rcognised certification – can they like, throw you on the streets and make you sweep roads ?

I have a degree, abiet a not very good one – but its a degree.

Also I have a GNVQ in Advanced Science (with pass) and an A Level at grade D.

I also have the equivalent of 8 GCSE’s under my belt, 4 of which are C’s and one grade B.

I have next to no work experience though – my last job was 8 years ago and i was 2 hours short of being registered a full time employee, although I suspect my employers at the time registered me as one nonethelss.

I wonder if Job Centre people can dirty up your name if you refuse to do work they bully you into doing, i.e somebody like me being asked to work at KFC or be a Car Park Ticket Warden (something obviously uncomplimentary to my educational background and worth).

can they bully and intimidate me into a line of employement I dont want to go into – bringing me to my final question, i will take my goddamn time to find suitable work for myself – but that will mean staying on JSA for a while unfortunately. Ive been paid twice so far and expect to be paid JSA again today.

Can the Job centre folk dirty up my name, history by informing the government over the telephone that ‘hes not accepting the job offer we gave him – he wont work at KFC’ , and then get the police to break down my door and beat me up over it ?

i dont want to get a criminal record because I didnt comply to bullying by job centre people.

I just got hired at a hotel, They said they need to check my background , they said it should take 5 days ,and if it comes back clean then I start work in a week. When it takes 5 days to come back, does that mean a full background check or just regular to see if I am a criminal? I have no criminal record but Iam worried about my credit and my education background, I kinda lied about where I go to college. And some of the company I worked for was a small company so I doubt they even will show up on file. The job doesnt require any degree , just really good customer service , Its a front desk hotel job. My husband have being pretty nasty with me latelly. We are in a process of divorce, and he is making everything dificult. None of the agreements goes true with him. After a couple month I was married, he just start to tell me about plans to stole a store in Brian Hood, past murders, stolen computers, stereoids in Mexico, bunch of thing that is very scary. I am wondering if I send a fax or letter to the authorities in US about his record in Mexico, (he is a white american) could affect me. It happens in 2001. I know him since Fev. 2006. He stills send stereoids to Michigan, and is planning things that could complicate his life if he could get cout. He do not have any criminal record in USA. He paid 67,000 not to have the record released here. I do not know if is true. I know I found him job at UPS and I am thinking to call them em tell them about his criminal record.he is planing to lie in court to save his friends a cause he was drunk and driving and will take the blame for it!

When I was 17 (I am 18 now), I got a "minor dui" and since my bac was so low, it was ticketed as "driving while impaired to the slightest degree" which sounds better than a dui. According to my parents, the court said it would be earased off my criminal record when I turn 18. But I don’t know for sure. I didn’t put it on my application, because my parents and other people told me not to because it was a juveinille offense. I already had the interview/passed the drug test, and I am scheduled for training next week, so I can’t go back and explain my case…

Since it was a juveinelle offense, and I already did my stuff for it (besides the 2 year license suspension), is it still going to show up on my CRIMINAL (not driving) record?

In the midst of a high-conflict divorce my ex alleged that I grabbed her arm – and I wound up eventually pleading no contest to the charge of simple battery (PC 242). I was innocent – and the victim of her drunken rage – but nothing I could say or do seemed to matter. The more I protested my innocence, the more legal pressure I was subjected to. In the end, I was blackmailed by the legal system into pleading guilty to something – anything so they would lift restraining orders that forced me to move out and have no contact with her or my kids. The moment I plead "no contest", they lifted the restraining orders and sent me on my merry way – but with a criminal conviction that now prevents me from getting hired. The unfairness, inequity, and humiliation I was subjected to was beyond reason – and now to add even further injury, I am seemingly unemployable – by any firm that conducts background checks. The divorce and legal costs have left me with no significant assets, and I can’t last 2 years without a source of income. I’m looking for advice – a solution to my dilemma. Perhaps a firm that would be willing to hire me despite this issue – and I can and will substantiate my outstanding character, honesty, and integrity. Maybe a strategy to remove this from my criminal record and/or background reports. Maybe a law enforcement organization that would be willing to “clear” this in exchange for assistance in an investigation, sting operation, or other law enforcement activity. I’m open to suggestions – and I welcome and appreciate any helpful guidance or advice. I’m not a batterer trying to squirm out my predicament – I am an honest, kind, helpful person that was victimized by a person with very serious emotional issues (bpd, depression, and alcoholism) and a legal system that assumes all allegations are just, true, and above challenge. Thank you for reading this, and I encourage you to educate yourself on the dysfunctional state of California’s domestic violence laws. I’m opposed to violence (domestic or otherwise) in every way – but the current legal system is being abused and manipulated in a well-intentioned but misguided effort to prevent further suffering my women. program here in Canada, and she found out that she has a criminal record for a soliciting charge, she is not that type of person and I know it as well as anyone else who knows her knows that she is not that type of person. Heck she has never ever stoled a thing in her life, my question is how can she get her record clean, because she should not receive a record for something she is not done, which she would be 100% against?? I’m opposed to violence (domestic or otherwise) in every way – but the current legal system is being abused and manipulated in a well-intentioned but misguided effort to prevent further suffering my women. I am wanting to do a background check on myself from an employer’s point of view. I know there are many sites that do this, however all of them have complaints that the information is incomplete or that the cost for the check does not cover the information requested. What site should I use?

I want as much information on "myself" as possible.
THE REASON WHY?
My identity was stolen years ago and I just found out.
I have been applying for jobs like crazy for months (hundreds at this point) with postive interviews and feedback but they just won’t hire me.
I have an excellent work history, excellent professional refrences, College educated(3.96GPA) never been fired from a job, an as far as I know I have no criminal record, clean driving record (never had a ticket or accident) and never have I ever been to court.

I wonder if at this point if someone has used my identity and there will be somthing found in my background check to reveal why employers refuse to hire me.
I would like to add,
I am not limiting myself to the type of jobs for which I am applying. I’ve applied for everything from sales, customerservice, data entry, office assistant type jobs, art postions, jobs in fast food, retail, warehouses, airlines, telemarketing, television/media/news, goverment /federal jobs.
I apply for any job that fits my skills and now I am at the point of applying for anthing that I know I am capable of doing or fits my qualifications.

Day labor won’t send me out because they "don’t send out many women" and I end of waiting until they say "no more jobs"

I am 24, ready and able to work. It is just baffling.
No tattoos anywhere, I have just my ears pierced once.

Annual credit report showed just the address of someone who did steal my social security card and used it, but I did the police report for that.

But what I wonder is what site has a background check, or what "thing" would employers look for then turn someone down because of that "thing" that they found.

Im 15, and have started writing my own lyrics, songs for rap. I can get a flow going and good beats. I tend to rap about general things and things such as relationships, but a lot of it is based on anger and my own experiences Trouble is, most rappers tend to have a rough reputation, but i don’t have a criminal record or get into fights. I dont get into any kind of trouble really, i have some really close friends who when im with, we are really loud and crazy, but dont have a big popular background. In NY the law on hiring people with criminal record is the employer can not deny you unless the record is something that is directly related to the job. Like a bank robber can not work at a bank. Do most employers in NY honor the law.

A friend was working in a company and got hired with no problem. Within about 4 months of being hired, he was offered assistant manager of the department. An in company promotion background check was done and something about his criminal record came up, and he was fired.

A pre-employment background check consent form WAS done.

BUT he had also denied having criminal charges on his application…

Was the company right in doing this?

If someone puts a restraining order on another person and in reality there was nothing wrong, it was just one person doing that to harm the other one. The order is later lifted because of lack of evidence. Is the person criminal record still affected?, is still going to show a restraining order was put and lifted or it will look completely clean?
Basically, if a restraining order is put and lifted, does that stays in your criminal records?

I am 19 years of age and this happened when I was 18. I am currently going through PTI (Still in it) I have a job interview tomorrow at 10AM. I lost my job today. We have all heard it before when getting hired that the company must perform a background check. But what do they do? Do they check your credit report? do they check your criminal record? What about driving record do they check that? Do they verify employment, if so how far back do they verify and do they verify employment with current employer, even if you don’t want current employer to be contacted? I am really hoping someone in HR can shed some light on this.

It might be best if you have restraining order and have been given a background check when answering this question too.
I already did my internet research and most of you are totally wrong.

background checks will only find it in SOME states unless there is a criminal record attached to it. (example; domestic abuse, spousal abuse)
And even if found, it is not a disqualifying record for a job because it is not a crime and anyone can order a restraining order against anybody else.

okay, so I applied for a government job (with department of interior) and I got the job pending that my background check comes back with no problems. It been 10 days since I submitted my paper work to conduct a background check and I still have no gotten a call from them. Also all my references has not yet been contacted and neither has my previous employers.

What exactly do they check? I do not have any criminal record whatsoever and my credit score is excellent. is there anything else that I should be worried about? I did move from the time i submitted my paperwork till now, should i tell them or is that not relevant to my background check?

I submitted a background check only, I didnt’ list all the jobs I’ve ever had. Someone told me that companies can only check what you put on the background check about jobs. I have great credit, no criminal record, never failed a drug test. Is there a possibility I might fail the background check?

I recently attended a group interview at toys r us. The manager stated that a criminal background check and a credit check were done. I have no worries about the criminal. I am worried about the credit check. My credit is going down the toilet. Not because I refuse to pay bills but because I have no income and can’t. I was already turned down by a call center and now I am afraid the same will happen now. I had to submit my fingerprint for a background check for a job. The check came back with a background that was not mine. The person has the same birthdate and used my name as one of her aliases. She has a different S.S. number and different body build. I just dont understand how her background can be connected to my fingerprints. She also has a criminal record and I do not. The reason I’m asking is because I’m filling out applications, and I do not remember the exact dates of employment from previous jobs, so I’m going to have to give a guesstimate.

my clearence is active. so there is no need to sit on it. I had it transferd to a job about 5 months ago so i know it is active. that is why i am assuming there just verfing everything. I am just getting impatient and ready to get moved, and give notices.

Is it understandable to react with so much anger & sorrow at realising what youve missed out on all your life?

unfortunatly im a person who has suffered a miserable life all my life – ive never really lived my life or done anything i want to.

had a very difficult miserable life – missed out on EVERYTHING thus far : relationships, friendships , employment, qualifications etc.

suffered severe abuse/ bullying throughout my life, im now 30 years old , i feel ive aged prematurly because of stress , i have a minor criminal record , ( carrying a knife in a rough nieghbourhood, carrying a snooker ball in a sock – assault , kicking someone – ) spent time in a psychiatric hospital for 18 months because i said things to scare psychiatrist because i wasnt recieving help in the community.

all that was about 7 years ago, since then ive been from pillar to post, ended up homeless for 9 months.

ive made alot of progress from how i once was – i used to have rage outbursts in public and lash out and pick fights with people, due to bottled up anger when i was bullied.

in the present im living in a one bedroom apartment in a dreary part of england on sickness disability – iam waiting for group therapy because thers is no individual psychotherapy in my area.

i was diagnosed with BPD and post traumatic stress traits.

i have physical problems, torn ankle ligaments, i need an operation on my left ankle – cracked skin on my penis, waiting for a 3rd opinion from a dermatologist – im out of shape badly because i have been inactive for so long. my physicality is weak.

the otherday i was on the phone talking, and in the background i was privy to another girl talking on the phone, she sounded young, white and caucasian , it sounded like she was getting sexual stimulation or sexual kicks by talking to some guy on the phone , in a squealy type voice with submissive tones she kept saying ” yeah , yeeeaaah , yeah…….yeaaah….yeah ”.

i felt really enraged listening to that because, while im working on bettering my life and trying to achieve my long term aims, some girl is obliviously enjoying life, simply, and getting off talking to someone.

while ive missed out on all that good stuff , and have to go through hell, as i always have done to get the life i want for myself..

and outside, life is just carrying on as normal, and people are having fun, getting their rocks off.

( clenched teeth ) – grrrrraaaaaargh ! i feel so angry

i imagined taking my anger out on that girl while clenching my tooths – punching her up.

i would never do that obviously, i just felt so enraged…..and they were just feelings , feeling like i wanted to shut that girl up.

my only goal now is to emigrate from britain once ive worked on my psychological problems via therapy, i would like a decent paid job in IT then my ultimate goal is to leave england……….i know it will be hard because of my disadvantages.

im 30 have bpd, and ptsd, missed out on everrything in life, had an incredablly unfortunate life, live alone on disability in a small apartment in england , unfortunatly i have a long psychiatric history and a criminal record going back 7 years ago..

they dont have the therapy i want in my area, ( individual psychotherapy ) but instead are refering me to a local resource centre where they do activities to help me integrate with people because ive been isolated for so long..

If you’re stopped by police, either for a crime or a random check, but they can’t identify you (eg. you have no criminal record, no ID, refuse to tell them etc etc) what would they do? Surely they need a name to check your background and/or arrest you?

fingure prints, DNA etc – unlikely to be on record unless you have a criminal record already – your name isn’t programmed into your DNA!!!

How would the police know your address, if you told them nothing?

If the person gives the police no name, has no ID, and has never been in trouble before…. surely there is no way to found out who you are!

Taking photos and prints, DNA only helps if it’s on record somewhere, surely.
So….the police could hold you FOREVER, if you never game them your name or ID? Unlikely – murders don’t even get that!! That true?

in the present im living in a one bedroom apartment in a dreary part of england on sickness disability – iam waiting for group therapy because thers is no individual psychotherapy in my area.

i was diagnosed with BPD and post traumatic stress traits.

i have physical problems, torn ankle ligaments, i need an operation on my left ankle – cracked skin on my penis, waiting for a 3rd opinion from a dermatologist – im out of shape badly because i have been inactive for so long. my physicality is weak.

im so jumbled up an confused because im wondering what to do and in what priority – i have goals in life i want to reach ; i want to emigrate from england to somewhere hot and coastal with a good paid job in IT computers.

i definatly want to emigrate inspite of my disadvantages – but im so depressed because im starting from nothing, from scratch virtually.

and now im worrying how i will achieve that goal, and what order to do things , like prioritise ?

i feel in a rush, im scared it will take too long to achieve my goals as im already an aged 30 , 31 in january.

i want to work towards my desired goal and realise there is only me to save ME , but im confused as how to go about things. …. ive lived inside the system all my life have no life skills now iam desperate to stand on my own two feet , achieve my goals – leave britain and go my own way.

can someone help ?

i fear if iam trapped in britain , i will deffinatly to commit suicide.

iam not happy here, its been my childhood ambition to leave , i wanna leave , and that is that.

im aware im at big disadvantages but my number 1 goal above anything in this world is to leave britain.

im sick of people undermining my goals, pointing out my mistakes, telling me that i have no chance of leaving england , unfortunatly its mostly brits who put me down, tell me its unrealistic, that my past will go against me – like their keeping me prisoner here…

but inspite of that i feel falsely imprisoned in the uk anyway, like im being kept here, against my power.

i dont want to do one day at a time which is what most say, i literally want to rush off and leave here next week..

i have a sense of feeling trapped here.

i dont live in a rough area really but you do see no hopers, alcoholics , groups of teenagers acting hard , white skin heads etc – and thats not what i want to be around.
im trying to reform myself , ive made progress – there telling me thers no individual psychotherapy in my area …

they say im not ready for group therapy because ive been isolated for so long.

i just get really depressed and frustrated with this situation..

i want a better life, to reach my ambition of leaving the uk..

a job in it computers, thats all i can think about.

but im depressed about my disadvantages which people keep reminding me about …….my record etc…

5 years ago when I was 18 I was caught shoplifting an item worth £1.50 in Primark (my first offence). The security guard took my name, date of birth, address and photo from the security cameras. This information was, in his words, then passed on to all Primark stores and the police. I then received a lifelong ban from ALL Primarks (which was later dropped after I sent a letter of apology to the store manager).

The police were not involved, I was not arrested and do not have a criminal record; future employers will not know what happened if they run a background check. However, according to the security guard, since he forwarded my info to the police, if I ever get involved with the police in the future the cops will know about the shoplifting incident. How exactly is this possible? Like, where do the police store this info? (Since I don’t have a criminal record for them to put it on!) Can anyone but law enforcement access such info?

What steeps do i need to take to have my criminal record expunged? in the state of Pennsylvania is their a certain amount of year you need to wait after your last conviction on misdemeanor’s?Will their be a charge?Do i need to go us court or Governor?Thanks

I’m applying for jobs and some of them say this. I assume it means they look into you background and see if you have any convictions or a criminal record?

I’m mostly clean apart from one thing – about a year ago my friends and I were spotted by security guards looking through bins – we go around collecting discarded objects to use in art projects. It’s called found materials. The security call the police, the police stop & search us, I still have the receipt for the search – it says they were looking for evidence of theft/burglary and nothing was found. It has my current address on it.

Will this affect me at all?

Does the US Government check the background of every person who applies for a fiance visa to live in America? If someone has a criminal record in this country, and they want to marry an American citizen, will the US find that out and stop them entering the USA? Or do they only check randomly? If someone didn’t tell them he had a criminal record, would they find out?

The US embassy came to see me when I got arrested for DUI in Tijuana. They got my name and social security number, adress and everything. I was "let-off-the-hook" because it was my first time being arrested in Mexico and I was warned that if it happened again that I would be charged. Will this show up on my criminal record? Affect my chances of joining?

I’m a British citizen, moving back home (have been abroad since my early teens) as an adult, but a rental agency in the UK says I need references to rent a residence in the UK, and need to be ‘checked out’.

Trouble is, I don’t rent here, I live with a relative; I only get two bills in my name. What could I get or do to be a better ‘risk’ to rent to in the UK?

A police background check (which is expensive here) would only cover the country I’m in now, and probably wouldn’t be taken seriously in the UK. I have no criminal record, no bad credit history, but don’t have former landlords or close family to "back me up".

and how not to cause rejection ? – & as a result being afraid to contact people ?

these are my circumstances in general :

ive missed out all my life on happiness, goals, friendships, relationships, work, education, lifestyles..

never achieved any of it because ive suffered such a miserable life of trauma, let downs, rejection, bullying ~( physical and mental ) – abuse, assaults, attacks, time in a psychiatric hospital, time in jail….a criminal record…a mental health record etc…

today ive lived on my own since 2005 in a small messy flat without anybody….i have no social support network exceptt my mother and 1 internet friend…..my mother who is aging and cannot do the things she used to.

i live on disability, i own nothing except a few books and an old dusty computer.

because of the severe bullying and abuse i suffered i developed a rage and aggression problem….iam diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and ptsd..

i used to have rage outbursts many times in crowded public places and lash out at strangers…..get confrontational…..stare at people act out of control aggressive..

because of this sometimes i thought could i have intermittent explosive disorder ?

but have accepted my bpd diagnoses, ive made lot of progress controling my aggression and outbursts for years now…and are waiting for an appointment for psychotherapy..

for a while ive experienced bad anxiety, flashbacks, panic that keep my staying inside my apartment except when i need to go out..

struggled with aggression because of unresolved anger of the past, severe bullying etc..

paranoia that im being deliberatly alienated by people, ostracised and socially excluded…..like my lifes being opressed and controlled..

im not sure how the paranoia started but ive had it vertually all my adult life.

sometimes in an average day, some people are abrupt, cold, stand-offish, non accepting of me, aloof, exchange glances, and seem to be deliberatly making me feel like an outcast..

supermarket workers, cafe workers, store cashiers …authority figures..

this reinforces my paranoia im being socially ostracised.

i feel society….the local community has a negative perception of me which, just the thought they have makes me feel incredablly angry.

i feel deliberatly shut out of society…..like im stigmatised, like a lot of people know about my past….rage episodes….my background etc..

i feel vilified by people who used to victimise me years back.

i feel people in the community remember my countless ragew outburst or im somehow stigmatised and labelled in other ways..

otherwise, why are people so aloof, and stand-offish from me and seem to distance themselves from me ???

obviously i struggle with aloofness myself, and im very wary and guarded towards people……but no one can blame me for that considering everything i have had to go through….

in spite of my crap life ive had to endure, and my past, and history and possible stigma surrounding me im still going on….making progress with my rage…..have the odd setback with anger showing – but on the whole ive done well.

im trying to be positive and work towards future goals of a good paid job and to move away from england to live near the quiet coast somewhere….to live a peaceful life..

im 30 now and obviously missed out a great deal on everything..

i need treatment for my injured ankle and torn ankle ligaments, i have to watch how i walk, or else i can go over…..it is very weak……

its depressing to because with it i feel like a cripple.

the skin on the head of my penis is all cracked and teared, covering the head…..so im waiting to hear from a dermatologist about that.

so theres alot of things causing me insecurity and anxiety at the moment.

and ontop of that, when i go outside….or i browse myspace, in england at female profiles or other countries in myspace i see beaming happy grins…..like everyones happy….oblivious to my life of torment and torture..

flirty, wide grinned, rosy cheeked, fair haired grins and i feel incredablly angry at that !!!!! ( clenched teeth )

because ive missed out all my life at starting from scratch at 30, on my own in a small flat.

how do i handle this ?

because i feel angry and jealous toward those happy people and want to take it out on them

i know that its wrong to feel that way thats why im asking for help
with all this in mind, ive always suffered extreme low self worth……and always been rejected………never formed any relationships in life so far and im 30 now..

i always seem to act this way and im stuck to know how to be different, soon as i talk to a person especiall a female, i display these behaviours then they reject me and back off.

ive been a borderline personality sufferer since 15 im 30 now.
i also have a petty criminal record to…i would really like to fullfill my ambition of emigration to canada or australia someday, but i keep getting told from people i wont be able to because of my background and my history, i get very depressed and in low moods because of this, and i feel if i discover that i cannot move away, emigrate, i will do myself in, because i hate it here in england, and desperatley wanna work towards leaving….im waiting for therapy for my disorder, but i dont wanna think i can never leave britain and that im trapped here because of mistakes ive made in my past and my mental health history, thats condemnation, im willing to work with my problems with therapy, but i need to know that theres hope for me,that i could move out & far away if i choose..i dont wanna be told i cant go where i wanna go, when im a reforming character,or else my time on earth is a short one.does anyone se any hope for me?

My husband plans to join the military. I have a very old criminal record. I’m wondering if anyone knows where I could find a list of countries that won’t allow someone to come into the country if they have a criminal record. I.E. If a patrol officer knows if a driver has outstanding warrants, does that mean he/she sees their criminal record? Are the two different?
Oh….thats why that cop didn’t want to walk up to my car.

It says to disclose if your parents are involved in criminal activity or anything which resulted in a clash with the law. Would my dad caught speeding and going to court to pay a fine impact on my family’s background checks which are carried out? His CRB for a security guard came back fine so I presume he has no criminal record????

If someone puts a restraining order on another person and in reality there was nothing wrong, it was just one person doing that to harm the other one. The order is later lifted because of lack of evidence. Is the person criminal record still affected?, is still going to show a restraining order was put and lifted or it will look completely clean?

these are my circumstances in general :

ive missed out all my life on happiness, goals, friendships, relationships, work, education, lifestyles..

never achieved any of it because ive suffered such a miserable life of trauma, let downs, rejection, bullying ~( physical and mental ) – abuse, assaults, attacks, time in a psychiatric hospital, time in jail….a criminal record…a mental health record etc…

today ive lived on my own since 2005 in a small messy flat without anybody….i have no social support network exceptt my mother and 1 internet friend…..my mother who is aging and cannot do the things she used to.

i live on disability, i own nothing except a few books and an old dusty computer.

because of the severe bullying and abuse i suffered i developed a rage and aggression problem….iam diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and ptsd..

i used to have rage outbursts many times in crowded public places and lash out at strangers…..get confrontational…..stare at people act out of control aggressive..

because of this sometimes i thought could i have intermittent explosive disorder ?

but have accepted my bpd diagnoses, ive made lot of progress controling my aggression and outbursts for years now…and are waiting for an appointment for psychotherapy..

for a while ive experienced bad anxiety, flashbacks, panic that keep my staying inside my apartment except when i need to go out..

struggled with aggression because of unresolved anger of the past, severe bullying etc..

paranoia that im being deliberatly alienated by people, ostracised and socially excluded…..like my lifes being opressed and controlled..

im not sure how the paranoia started but ive had it vertually all my adult life.

sometimes in an average day, some people are abrupt, cold, stand-offish, non accepting of me, aloof, exchange glances, and seem to be deliberatly making me feel like an outcast..

supermarket workers, cafe workers, store cashiers …authority figures..

this reinforces my paranoia im being socially ostracised.

i feel society….the local community has a negative perception of me which, just the thought they have makes me feel incredablly angry.

i feel deliberatly shut out of society…..like im stigmatised, like a lot of people know about my past….rage episodes….my background etc..

i feel vilified by people who used to victimise me years back.

i feel people in the community remember my countless ragew outburst or im somehow stigmatised and labelled in other ways..

otherwise, why are people so aloof, and stand-offish from me and seem to distance themselves from me ???

obviously i struggle with aloofness myself, and im very wary and guarded towards people……but no one can blame me for that considering everything i have had to go through….

in spite of my crap life ive had to endure, and my past, and history and possible stigma surrounding me im still going on….making progress with my rage…..have the odd setback with anger showing – but on the whole ive done well.

im trying to be positive and work towards future goals of a good paid job and to move away from england to live near the quiet coast somewhere….to live a peaceful life..

im 30 now and obviously missed out a great deal on everything..

i need treatment for my injured ankle and torn ankle ligaments, i have to watch how i walk, or else i can go over…..it is very weak……

its depressing to because with it i feel like a cripple.

the skin on the head of my penis is all cracked and teared, covering the head…..so im waiting to hear from a dermatologist about that.

so theres alot of things causing me insecurity and anxiety at the moment.

and ontop of that, when i go outside….or i browse myspace, in england at female profiles or other countries in myspace i see beaming happy grins…..like everyones happy….oblivious to my life of torment and torture..

flirty, wide grinned, rosy cheeked, fair haired grins and i feel incredablly angry at that !!!!! ( clenched teeth )

because ive missed out all my life at starting from scratch at 30, on my own in a small flat.

how do i handle this ?

now with all this in mind, ive always suffered extreme low self worth……and always been rejected………never formed any relationships in life so far and im 30 now..

theres people on myspace and on my messenger lists…….and people whove reached out to me through this site.

but im scared to contact them incase they find out about my true character…..the reality of my living circumstances and they back away and

: reject me.

im so terrified of this as i always have been, and yet it always happened.
theres this russian girl who i spoke to twice, i added her to my messenger…she semed pleasant…interested….but im scared to go back and contact her again….because she might find out my true life….or i might have to tell her the truth of my life and she might then :

reject me.

and i would be devastated and hate to lose her…..i take rejection so bad and devastating….

how do i get over this life long fear ?

especially if you started to like someone and dont want to lose them.

I wanted to get a license in my home states because I lost my old one. I have no criminal record in my home states but I do in another. I don’t want to go and get my license and they arrest me…

Question Details: how long did it take? what type of things did they look for? i don’t have a criminal record or anything, but i don’t have the best credit. I already have an active security clearance though. But it is taking 4 ever. (this position would be for an aircraft mechanic) basicly i am wondering what all they are looking for concidering they don’t have to do the background check for the clearence. and how long it will take. ( bit more info) i have already been offered the job based on clearing the background check, and the results of the drug test which i took the same day i interviewed and passed that. so i am now just waiting on the background check. it has been over 2 weeks now and the start date is comming up soon. i have to relocate for this job. it is only an hour and a half away but, i need time to give a 2 weeks notice at my current job, and a notice to my current landlord. and it is already the first now.

What exactly do employers look for when doing a background check? How long do they take to get back?
Can employers really discriminate against you for your credit rating? I probably have a very minor criminal record, but nothing major like drugs, DUI, felonies, or anything like that. What do you think?

I work with this really creepy guy and I know he is on parole. Im seriously scared of him, he is a total creep. Does anyone know where I can find out why he was in jail with out paying? Its driving me nuts, because he cornered me in the unisex bathroom and now Im scared to go to the restroom. I`ve got to have a criminal record background check done so i can help at my sons school. My problem is about 12yrs ago when i was 17 i got a caution for possession of canabis i need to know who will find out about it? Will my sons school see my record or will it just be looked at by some sort of educational board.

I currently have physical custody of my 1 year old daughter. I have no criminal record and her father has an extensive record including multiple drug charges. His parents pay a lawyer handle his cases, is there a possibility that he could get custody? Do they take any of this into consideration?

John, a close friend of mine (I am not at liberty to disclose his last name) has a criminal record in the United Kingdom, which involves:-

1) Arrested, detained, and cautioned for collecting money without a license in the UK in Feb. 1994.
2) Arrested for domestic violence in Feb. 2007, but subsequently de-arrested because his family didn’t wish to pursue a complaint (which is still traceable by a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure in the UK).
3) Arrested, detained, and cautioned for criminal battery in the UK in April 2007.

John has always been fascinated with America and he is desperate to emigrate for political reasons. In order to do so, he needs to obtain a "Waiver of ineligibility" in connection with his criminal record. However, any port of entry could still refuse him on discretionary grounds. Moreover, John is concerned his criminal record might be extensive enough to have him permanently debarred from obtaining a Green Card, which is a permanent immigrant’s visa to the US. Legally speaking, it’s impossible to become a US Citizen unless you’ve been a lawful permanent resident for at least 5 years prior to one’s application to become a US Citizen.

As a friend, I have tried my best to help John in this matter. John is unable to pay the requisite fees to consult a US immigration lawyer in the UK. I have offered to lend him all the necessary monies to allow him to consult Gudeon & McFadden US Immigration Lawyers in London; but John is a proud man and he has outrightly rejected my offer to lend him this money.

I myself have a limited knowledge of US Immigration Law, which is based on a few information available on the web.

As I understand, certain individuals with a criminal background could still be theoretically rehabilitated over a period of 15 years provided they have immediate family in the US e.g. spouse or dependent minors who are either Permanent Residents or US Citizens. John is previously divorced with no children, but he is seriously considering the possibility of joining an American expatriate organization in this country in order to marry a US citizen, which would afford him the option of being rehabilitated over the next 12 years (given that his most recent criminal offense was committed in April 2007). However, I believe that only certain categories of criminals can be legally rehabilitated according to US immigration law, which depends on the seriousness of one’s overall criminal background. Hence, I am not sure whether John would be eligible for rehab. under the circumstances of his criminal background.

Moreover, I am advising John about a further option, which is to gain entry to the US much sooner on the grounds of hardship to his immediate family in the US i.e. spouse or dependent minors under the age of 18 years. I understand that US Congress provides a facility for individuals with a criminal record to obtain a US Green Card on the basis of alleged hardship to the individual’s spouse or dependent minors. However, John is also concerned about the social stigma attached to any claims about alleged hardship to his family, because he says it would be tantamount to "begging" for clemency from the US Department of Homeland Security. Last but not least, John is concerned no decent American lady would willingly choose to get involved with somebody of his background, knowing full well it would require her full cooperation with regards to filing for his entry on the basis of hardship on her behalf or on behalf of any future children born in the US – no decent, intelligent or educated female would be complicit with such an arrangement, which would require her to go completely out of her way to ensure such a plan would have any hope of success. My dear friend is concerned no decent woman would accept him now in connection with his criminal record, which would almost certainly prevent his entry to the US in the short term – that is, nobody but "trailer trash" would go along with such a hair brain scheme as this.

I would appreciate a definitive response from any individual (i.e. either a student or US attorney) who is legally qualified to advise on this subject. First, is it legally possible for somebody with John’s criminal history to be rehabilitated over the next 12 years? Second, is there any social stigma attached to filing for entry to the US on the basis of alleged hardship to one’s immediate family? Third, is it probably the case my friend will never be able to find a nice, decent or respectable lady who would accept him in light of his criminal background and extraordinary steps she would have to undergo to affect his short term entry to the US – it seems no intelligent woman would be prepared to go along with such an arrangement as this?

I am worried that a record I had seal will show up on my background check. Although it appears I do not have any criminal record if the check is done directly to the court, I know that some 3rd party employee screeners may found them.

Do anyone know how big companies and Banks perform background checks? And will they find my pass record?

I am adopted and am trying to find out some information on a member of my Birth Family, but I’m 2000 miles away. I know she had a lengthy criminal record, and I thought since she’s deceased, I might be able to access the local police files when I go there for the holidays. I signed up for this background search site named RecordsArea.com. And I can hardly find Information on myself. I know for a fact I have a criminal record but I’d like to see what’s on it. It keeps telling me no record found. I also try looking up info on my girlfriend very limited info it gave me, I even paid for the deluxe package which is unlimited access . What’s going on here? My friend, who is a US Resident, recently got married and is trying to change her last name to her husband’s last name. On her 18TH birthday she got into some legal problems and earned herself a misdemeanor which she subsequently had expunged. I am aware that she has to inform immigration of this, even though she has had her records expunged, but what I am baffled about is what does her criminal history have to do with changing her last name to her husband’s last name? Can she actually be turned down because of her past activities? It is not as if she is petitioning for her citizenship or anything.
INS sent her a letter today informing her of her appointment date and requesting that she provide information, if any, on any arrests or criminal activity in the past. What bearing does her past activities have on her requesting a last name change and can her request be denied? She is concerned and thinking of just keeping her last name the way it is now that all of this is happening.
I can’t figure it out because I am not familiar with INS and their rules and regulations. I can figure out why a criminal record would be important to a request for Citizenship or Residency, but, no, I actually can’t figure out why her past criminal history would have a bearing on her accepting and subsequently using her husband’s last name. If last name could possibily be an issue then immigration should also have an issue with residents getting married. Getting married and accepting your husband’s last name are synomous with each other.

I actually don’t feel bad that I don’t know. If everyone knew eveything – Yahoo Answers would not be necessary and no one would be using it not even you.

I need to find a criminal record for someone who lived in Maryland. I know they were incarcerated for two years, but I do not know the charge(s). In NC, which is where I live, you can easily search for criminal records for free from the Department of Corrections website. I am having trouble finding a similar feature on any government website in Maryland. Thanks for your help!
